You'd think after spending a week removing her foot from her mouth over her foreign combat leadership in Bosnia, she'd not want to nitpick over little shit like this, AND BE WRONG ABOUT IT!
I guess she's graduated from desperate, to desperate and stupid.
Anyone think that as HRC's chances of pulling off a win in the Dem primary that her campaign or surrogates will start making noise about her possibly running as a 3rd party candidate?
Think about it, if she loses to Obama, and Obama wins vs. McCain, she'll probably never be president. If she runs as a third party candidates she would guarantee a McCain win and she could run again for prez in 2012.
Just speculation.
You speak out, you get feedback.
You don't like it? STFU.
I agree she'd have a tough time of it in 2012 if she ran as a spoiler in 2008, BUT look at it from a calculating point of view: If Obama wins in 2008 she has almost no chance to ever be president. If McCain wins in 2008, she has a CHANCE in 2012.
I think you are mischaracterizing many people's position on HRC in or out of the race. For example, I want her in the race IF she runs clean. I happen to think that the longer the Dems control their own narrative the less the impact will be when the right-wing attack machine revs up for the General. HOWEVER if HRC is going to run a stupid Rove/Bush-like campaign then she should get out. For example, yesterday she said:
"My take on it is a lot of Senator Obama's supporters want to end this race because they don't want people to keep voting," she told CBS affiliate KTVQ in Billings, Mont. "That's just the opposite of what I believe. We want people to vote. I want the people of Montana to vote, don't you?"
I mean, COME ON! I think attacking Obama, his surrogates and supporters as wanting to suppress the vote because they want her out is insulting. Next she'll be claiming Obama's supporters don't love freedom. If she is going to run like a republican, then let her drop out so Obama can run against McCain.
Seems like overkill to me. Following this reasoning, we're all going to die someday, why not shoot yourself in the head?
Life is risk. Live it, see what happens.
On the other hand, as a libertarian, if it made her happy, more power to her.
Look, no one can stop her from running, nor should she. The issue I have is when the race is over, if Obama wins, will she support him fully?
I think just power over the stupid posts. Why do you mention it?
Clinton said yesterday. "I never quit. I never give up..."
As a man who has worked full time for almost all my life, from delivery boy and generic office work as a young boy and a teen, to the Navy, to employee in the tech industry, to middle management in the banking industry who gave it all up, by choice to be a full time stay home dad, I can say I can think of NOTHING more rewarding than fulfilling my birthright as a human being of raising my child from infancy to competent independent adulthood.
The fact that this endeavor is held in such low esteem is one of the major symptoms of the cultural collapse we are currently in.
Perhaps the author would do well to question why her friends' apparent lack of drive bothered her?
Also the whole premise is faulty based as it is on the ten year time frame. Why not ask anyone in any job why they seem less driven after they stick around when their job is completed? After all, if your kids are full time students, and you spend the majority of your time sitting around an empty house, you are no longer a full time parent, you are now a housekeeper. And that is a completely separate issue from 'mommy wars'.
You know, its possible, or even probable that Richardson broke a promise to the Clintons, however as a SuperD, his responsibility is to support who he thinks would be the better person for president. For the Clinton campaign to OPENLY say this is disloyalty is a sad and revealing glimpse into how HRC views the electoral process and how she fits within it. I would understand if the HRC campaign, were 'dissapointed' but to call it disloyal indicates she feels that Richardson's responsibility to HER is greater than his responsibility to the country. And to then to try to vilify him in the press is EXACTLY the kind of attitude and behavior I find so disgusting in the right-wing. More and more, despite her 'positions' the behavior of her campaign has taken on a definitely republican/bush flavor.
Are conservatives such bad Americans, that the best way to appeal to them is to tell them they won't have to sacrifice for their country?
"Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama just said they'd solve the problem by raising your taxes."
Personally I don't WANT to pay more taxes and I hate big govt, but Bush & Co, fucked up so bad, I'd tighten my belt as necessary to help fix it.
