Don't know, don't care, but surely its not comparable to a UFO conspiracy to think the Obama campaign (2nd place) wouldn't think of having the Edwards campaign (3rd place) do some dirty work on its behalf.
Though more reasonably no reason to think the Edwards campaign (3rd place) wouldn't attack the front runner on its own. I mean it would kind of have to if it wanted to move out of 3rd place. Though also reasonably the Obama campaign would gleefully watch.
Some timely reporting here. Good thing this Administration has been exposed before tens, if not hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians were killed.
Craig Unger is simply doing good muckraking journalism. These Unger articles are greatly needed."
No, they were greatly needed 4 to 8 years ago. If he were up for some good muckraking he'd be focused on Giuliani or Hillary.
For all the scoffing some of us have done at how gullible the social conservatives seem to be at being pandered and used by the Republican party, it occurred to me that the Democratic party is doing the exact same thing to the civil libertarians.
We are being used for our votes. The Democratic party is paying its base a LOT of lip service, not so much in actual service.
They are the Defeatocrats.
If its any consolation he won't be AG for long. If you're currently in custody by the federal government, then its no consolation.
Schumer's justification is deeply flawed simply because it assumes the Justice dept. is broken due to the actions of the AG, thus can be repaired by the AG. This is false. The Justice dept. is broken because Bush/Cheney wanted and needed it that way. And while I'm willing to stipulate Judge Mukasey will bring some sense of order to the dept., the fact that he seems willing to accept the President's definition of the President's authority means the dept will still be broken, especially if you're in federal custody!
Basically what Schumer and his ilk have agreed to is to let the President put a cosmetic band-aid on the dept. to make not seem so bad.
Look, you've just won a big game, body pumped full of adrenaline and endorphins, you and the people around you are prime physical specimens of your species. You're all sweaty and naked, the locker room is full of steam from the showers, your agent calls to tell you you've just gotten the multi-million dollar ad deal, champagne corks are popping, bubbly is flowing, maybe you're high, next thing you know there is a dick in your mouth. Its all good.
I'm frankly surprised its not so prevalent that the post-game gay orgy isn't a feature! (for the winners. the losers would just masturbate)
Unfortunately this is sort of a repeat. Long time ago, Opus realizes his bio clock is ticking and runs around frantic in a desperate attempt to 'live' ends up collapsing, panting saying he'd better slow down before he kills himself.
People willing to compromise the principals of their country, the international community and common decency in order to try to stop a terrorist attack are cowards. Plain and simple. Takes courage to stick by your principals in the face of danger.
First of all, phrases like this really do work best when evolved organically.
Secondly, to my male mind the phrase "She's really got the skirt for that..." sound like it is referring to some actual physical attribute. Specifically legs or ass. The 'balls' thing works because the physical thing being noted refers to a non-physical attribute. Thus the 'skirt' phrase will I think be seen to refer to something physical.
Thirdly the attempt to change or coin new phrases just makes the creator seem insecure, possibly a little nutty about the issue.
Lastly if you're going to go for it, go all the way, as in: You think she's got the tits to go over there and kick him in the balls?
Police Union Won't Back Giuliani's Run For President

I like this quote: "PBA President Pat Lynch goes as far as to say the former mayor lacks real credentials as a terrorism fighter."
Perhaps you forget what country those soldiers who are in harm's way belong to. This is America. Speaking out against the government is ALWAYS acceptable. It is one of the few things we have left that makes us great. The only thing reprehensible is the fact that those soldiers ARE in harm's way. Perhaps some of them appreciate the civilians back home speaking out in an attempt to get them OUT of harm's way.
Also the best metaphor for the war has to be Cheney shooting a friend in the face.
Our government has advanced many reasons to justify its need for 'enhanced interrogation techniques' and they can all be ignored.
Forget the experts who say that torture gets you bogus information. It only gets you the information the victim thinks you want to hear.
Our government engaged in torture precisely to get bogus information they wanted to hear.
And every debate on what constitutes torture will hopefully besmirch everyone in congress who took part when history looks back. Torture is not based on a pain threshold. Torture is using physical force to coerce information from an individual in your power. Any other stance is a disgrace to anyone who claims to be an American or a civilized person.
And as far as that bizarre tortured justification of the 'ticking time bomb' to these people who are willing to compromise the ideals of being an American in order to stop a terrorist attack, I call them cowards and because of their cowardice the terrorists of 9/11 have won.
