Saracuda

Dear Ms. Paglia, Has anyone ever told you that your articles are very long? So long, I nearly forgot the point of writing a letter. Except to note that I hope you aren't really going to vote for the empty-suit Obama and the 20-year desperate presidential candidate hack he is running with. Boy, that pick of Biden was really out-of-the-box and obviously all about "change." Biden really demonstrates that with Obama, it's a whole new world. Also, it's not that your generation is "past it." It's that they never got "it." Well, that's what 6 years of hallucinogenic drugs will do! Not to mention a subsequent 30 years of unperspicacious navel-gazing. Guess what? It's lint! Vote McCain*Palin. Brett Pedersen

Obama's views on education

Obama undoubtedley agrees with the so-called progressives in my hometown of San Francisco, where public school kindergarten children and, for that matter, all children, are subjected to the instruction of Lesbian, Gay and Transgender month each year. In the Catholic school where my own children are enrolled, the same month is referred to as Lent and Easter. There is your difference between Obama's social views and those of McCain*Palin.

Obama is not qualified to be President

Obama's views are way outside of the mainstream. It's only the media and the urban populations who support him, and they are a small, yet vocal, minority. The liberals should wake up and smell the coffee: your average American is too fundamentally smart and decent to allow such an inexperienced charlatan to tell them what to do with their own time, money, and thoughts. Look at the Reid-Pelosi Congress: it would be a joke if it weren't so important. Obama has never run anything of significance and his time and opportunities in the legislatures, such are they were, appear to have been used to accomplish nothing.

McCain Doctrine

Although Gov. Palin did not recognize what Charlie Gibson was referring to, her answer upon clarification was exactly correct. That is called "substance." If Saracuda continues to experience condescension and even scorn such as displayed by Charlie Gibson in his tone and demeanor, she may begin to ascribe to the "McCain Doctrine." You know, the one where he always refers to the media as "You jerks."

Feminism

I too grew up in a neighborhood with a strong Italian element. Those people were great and some of my best friends and some of the best people I've known. No doubt they influenced my later decision to become a Catholic with all their saint cards and candles, not to mention their morals and behavior. I was a child in the 60's and early 70's when the feminist movement took root. It was obvious to me as a male that the girls in my classes were superior to the guys. That was a no-brainer. That made me an automatic feminist, or so I've always thought. I've had many close girlfriends and I've hired many female employees since. It has disturbed me that feminism has become so closely tied with abortion rights. Roe v. Wade has been a plague on our country and I believe that until that law is changed, it will be difficult, maybe impossible, to get our country back to the greatness it had always previously enjoyed. Abortion corrodes our ability to grow and thrive. It is the opposite of growth and well-being. I'd also like to take this oportunity to state that one not need to be a liberal Democrat to be a feminist. One only needs to be supportive of equality for women to be a feminist. There are many strong, conservative women who are bona fide feminists, for example, Gov. Sarah Palin, who has been so roundly mocked and ridiculed. I recently had someone, a female M.D., nearly shout at me the canard that "Sarah Palin is an insult to all women." That's like saying Obama is an insult to all men, or to all blacks. Simply goofy. Living in DC, NY and SF, I've been surrounded by liberal elitists all my adult life. Believe me, they are not nearly as smart as they think they are. They are not as smart as the little Italian ladies I grew up around. Not as smart about how to live. Respect life.

Original article: Obama surfs through

Beneath Obama's surface

Where is Obama's birth cerificate? Kenya? Where are his medical records? Where are his college and law school records? What is he hiding, foreign birth or a Marxist background and agenda? Treatment for drug abuse? We have a right to see all these documents. These are documents that anyone could easily produce, and are often required for job interviews. Obama wouldn't even qualify as an FBI Field Agent with is background and associations. What is he hiding? We must find out.

So many things....

Education: If Obama is serious about improving education, he should work to implement vouchers so more children can attend Catholic schools, where they would get some real discipline and education instead of this touchy, feely nonsense taught in so many public and private schools these days.

Hillary: She may be more phony than Condi, but she'll do better. What does have have over Obama? She probably knows that he wasn't born in the US... I want a certified birth certificate out in public and delivery room witnesses, nothing less.....

Muslims: Why are cartoons evil but killing is just fine? Consistency. In Afghanistan, many sell heroin for a living but think beer is immoral.

Sarah P.: I'm a fan, however, she should be a VP or Senate candidate, not yet President. Too young. Same for B. Clinton, Bush Jr., Obama. Let's elect someone in the 50's or 60's next time, please!

Dick Cavett: He was a throwback even in the 1970's.

Look of Love: Classic song.

Christmas carols: they are supposed to be about Christ, you know.
