O brothers and sisters, you need to stop buying the bullslop that Big Pharma, Big Insurance, and most Republicans are slinging. They're fighting you, their own American people, with everything they've got (endless dough and no conscience).
And isn't it ironic, not to say illogical, that these (mostly men) against reproductive rights are the same men against "rationed healthcare"? Wherein a lowly bureaucrat stands between you and your health rights? I guess for them it depends on if you're a man or a lowly womb.
From a Canadian to my American brethren, trust me, they're slinging you a pack of lies. I hope you fight them all the way.
Isn't it ironic that Canadian, American, British, Australian, etc., troops are fighting and dying in Afghanistan, trying to defeat the most evil force against human rights, and women's rights, since Hitler walked the earth.
And meanwhile back in the U.S.A., with Stupak-Pitts, American women are being told that they can't have an abortion paid for, ever. It's not a medical procedure, it's religious. And they can't have it.
Our soldiers are fighting and dying in Afghanistan for human and women's and girl's rights.
So, I don't get it, assh*les.
Palin is one thing. Cheney and Rove another. Now Romney has resurfaced too. The Republican Party of the U.S. can kindly be called bereft, of votes, of new ideas in 2009, and of any conscience, if these people are still their public face.
Meanwhile that dreadful “bow” in Japan. I think the “outrage” says a great deal about the American temperament. “We don’t kow-tow to nobody!” That’s understandable. “How dare our President bow to another leader!” That’s ignorance. And the world is weary of American ignorance of life beyond its own borders.
Acknowledging The Emperor of Japan in 2009 is not a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of respect. No, Americans, not every country does things like you do. But, like you, most countries have something called protocol. And if your leader visits those countries, it’s up to him or her to respect them.
You demand nothing less within your own hallowed borders.
So the poorest and most ignorant and desperate Americans among you will sell your little girls to the highest bidder, to get that tiara? Haven't you heard that the Taliban wants to eradicate all female rights? If there's one thing the Taliban hates and fears most, it's females.
Bring it on, you pathetic Taliban pieces of sh*t cowardice. Females exist, whether you like it or not, and we're going to fight you to the end.
"Better that he and his competitors get it than some dim-bulb central-government bureaucrat."
I'm sorry, I thought we were discussing physicians and health-care. I didn't realize it was a competitive sport.
and normal to Canadians - that universal health care is a good thing for a country. Yes, even when it means, gasp, higher taxes, to pay for the greater good. So what the hell are your leaders afraid of?? when it comes to health reform?? and admitting that it might mean higher taxes?? For those who earn more than hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.
Never mind. People like Rick Scott will lead you unto the promised land. Good luck.
That's any country's weakness.
If right-wing radio talk-show shills have hijacked the political discussion, don't blame it on right-wing radio talk-show shills. Where the hell are the other voices?
Everyone pays in and everyone benefits.
"we're going to have to cut through a lot of nonsense out there, a lot of absurd claims that have been made about health insurance reform." How about, for starters, calling them LIES, not "nonsense". Call them liars.
As an outside observer, and like it or not a neighbour and friend, I have to ask, are you people vaguely insane? You just lived through (we all did) 8 years of a regime that lied to the world with impunity, tapped your phones illegally, and made personal billions in Halliburton and Blackwater contracts. All of these "men" somehow evaded actual service. But their PR operatives somehow convinced the American people, for 8 years, that these cowards were the real deal. Real men.
Then you overwhemingly elected a President who would tell you
the truth. And he's trying to tell you the truth, again and again. And, once again, the ugly people, the ugly rich lying cowards - are telling the usual lies.
I thought you wanted universal health-care for your fellow-citizens. I thought you elected Barack Obama with a majority, to, among other things, deliver just that. I thought you wanted fresh and caring and intelligent. Where the hell are your loud voices and votes now??
By your silence, are you going to allow the hatred, ignorance, and self-serving inane lies put forth by the Limbaughs and O'Reillys of your airwaves to scupper any intelligent debate in your country?
