American Crossroads

A question for Mr Sugarman

If indeed Iran has or nearly a nuclear bomb what will they do with it? If the hysteria is to be believed they will within days nuke Israel right, their leader did say Israel will be wiped off the map, is that right? If one believes MEMRI's translation that is.

Pakistan has the nukes and Muslims, so does India (a much more volatile situation) but thats OK.

Iran and Iranians are not stupid, they know if they were to commit such an act, they would meet the same fate and worse in short order. But then again there is the crazy death cult Muslim meme so popular with right wingers, I for do not believe it but many want to. I believe you are old enough to remember nuclear deterrence, not a pretty picture but it did work.

Another country with the bomb does not please me, but then neither does the long winded cachet up for yet another oil war

Third temple

Forgot, if memory serves me correctly the third temple is part of the lead up to the Rapture, it is to be built on the spot where the Dome of the Rock mosque is now and yes I could see tearing down that mosque to build a synagogue as being the start of Armageddon or at least a very nasty war. When all of these events take place the Jews are expected to renounce Judaism and accept Jesus as their savior or be LEFT BEHIND which is what makes the whole Jewish fundies and Christian fundies joining forces so weird.

Clarifications

What I meant about India and Pakistan is that they might nuke each other, their animosity is long standing and goes in cycles between lukewarm and redhot.

As for Iran if they were indeed to nuke Israel America would be first to retaliate and world opinion be damned, I do not think who was President at the time would matter much either. As for Iran possibly transferring nuclear material or weapons to Hezbollah or another group that would hardly go unnoticed and would be dealt with preemptively and when it comes to said groups using nukes in Israel there is a proximity problem they in essence would irradiate themselves as well.

And yes I am Jewish or half on my fathers side. An aside a couple of days ago one of my daughters (who is bi-racial btw) asked me if Grandpa is Jewish does that mean that he and you are not really white? Stunned all I could think of was all comment on Israeli Jews = white and Palestinians = brown and then the mitochondrial DNA study that stated the two groups are a closer match to each other more then the Europeans and Arabs around them and if taken seriously what that study could mean.

GB Did you actually read the poll?

Being a self proclaimed Democrat, you should find pg 47 particularly interesting. It would seem that 63% of American Muslims identify themselves as Democrats and 71% voted for Kerry in the last election. So you really do belong to the "terrorist party", ever consider "becoming" a Republican?

Posted on wrong poll

Golden Boy did you even read the poll on Muslims? Being a self proclaimed Democrat, you should find pg 47 particularly interesting. Golden Boy

To quote you-"Those are the raw facts exposed by the poll. Yes, I know it is disturbing to those that have become invested in defending Islam. However, there is nothing any one of you can do to change those poll numbers. You can think about what those numbers mean"

Those numbers were hardly a surprise, lets break it down further the younger, poorer, less educated, American born Muslim converts were the ones with the most extreme views. The surprise for me was that those numbers were not higher. The more hate rhetoric from right wing extremists such as Charles Johnson, Robert Spencer, Rusty Shackleford, Michelle Malkin, Anne Coulter, Glen Beck, need I go on and those like your self who preach fear, the more support AQ has not in just this country but globally as well. Heck the pundits I mentioned are probibly one of the most valuable recruitment tools available to terrorists at this time.

In this forum you seem to be the one on a Jihad so to speak and as I asked before just what do suggest doing, oh yeah "limiting Islams growth", how do you that? Make it illegal? Detain new converts? Like it or not we live in a free society and with that freedom comes risks and yes I for one am willing to accept those risks because the alternative is unthinkable.
