Original article: Iraq and roll over

With all due respect, Mr. Shapiro,

Bullshit! This is not a question of counting votes. We are facing the watershed issue of our time, and the people in the congress and senate do not see it. The Democrats jockey for an election that's 14 months away while people die and tension mounts to ever more dangerous levels. That jockeying will be the primary concern for Democrats, even if Bush begins a campaign to win support for a war against Iran.

As regards the war in Iraq, where Democrats in Washington are concerned events are in the saddle riding men.

The Democrats control the legislative agenda. They can stop this war tomorrow. What's needed aren't votes, but cojones.

Original article: Tigers don't belong in zoos

reintroduction

Its simply false to say that tigers cannot be reintroduced into the wild. It has been done by the Cincinatti zoo. They taught Ron & Julie how to hunt while reintroducing them back into the wild. They live now as wild tigers. If you doubt this, contact the Cincinatti zoo for details.

Bush is making a deal

Even as we read and write, Bush is fast at work cutting a deal between the U.S. and Iraq that will commit U.S. combat troops to Iraq into the unforseeable future, unless congress acts to stop him. This will tie the hands of any future president. Knowing full well that this deal is in the works, which of these candidates (Edwards excepted, since he does not hold office) has raised his/her voice on the senate or house floor to stop Bush from making his deal? And which of them (Edwards included) has raised his/her voice to the media to bring this issue before the public?

Absent such action from any of these candidates, these promises are hollow and cynical campaign rhetoric. Someone needs to hold their feet to the fire, rephrase the question, and damned soon!

I did a "who is" search for the operator of the "citizens united not timid" web site. Not surprisingly, the trash who put up the site did so anonymously. But here is other contact information for anyone who would like to contact this model citizen.

Rove's snub

Hey Sheryl;

Being snubbed by Rove should be worn as a badge of honor. Revel in it.

Obama Vs. Clinton in California

With John Edwards now out, odds are that his supporters will vote for Obama. Its likely that Edwards supporters would be loathe to support a corporatist, blue-dog DLCer like Clinton. Edwards is yellow dog incarnate, and so are his supporters. They might not be in love with Obama, but they retch at the thought of a blue-dog.

Craven no matter how you cut it.

Clearly the house dems are more afraid Republican accusations of being soft on terrorism in the upcoming election than they are of the voters in the election.

Are there Rove fingerprints somewhere in the record here?

Did not Jill Simpson, an Alabama prosecutor, tell 60 Minutes that she had been asked by Rove to find "compromising" evidence against Don Siegelman, the then-governor of Alabama? This is a well-known Rove M.O. Were Siegelman and Sptizer on a Rove hit list?

How and why did the investigation of spitzer begin in the federal prosecutor's office in N.Y. when prostitution is normally within the jurisdiction of the state?

It is reported that banks notified the feds of "suspect transfers." Nowhere has it been mentioned that there were transfers of $10,000.00 or more, the threshold at which banks must notify the feds. There must be hundreds of thousands of transfers of that size, or larger, every day in this country. The largest number I've seen mentioned in reference to this story is $4,000.00. Why would a bank report a $4,000.00 transfer when they are not required to do so? Something smells here.

One wonders where this investigation really started, and at whose behest.

Rove complicity does not and should not excuse Spitzer. But agressive democrats beware! You're next.

Original article: Was Obama's speech enough?

It won't be enough if..............

What Obama did, essentially, was stand before this country and justify his race. That a man has to do that in this country, 232 years after the declaration of independence, is an outrage.

Tacit in this column is that this outrage is acceptable.

The headline of your op-ed piece is a rhetorical question that answers itself. At least it provides your answer: NO! Nevertheless, I'll vie you my answer to the question: It won't be enough if the chattering class keeps this matter front and center.

So Joan, do your part as a member of that class. Be sure to appear on MSNBC and keep this issue alive.

Your racism is showing and you ought to be ashamed.

Keith Staskeiwicz

Keith Staskeiwicz is dreaming if he thinks that Limbaugh's effort is merely to prolong the Democratic nomination process. He need only listen to Limbaugh's own words. Limbaugh now declares that nobody can save Clinton except Republicans and he's urging them to change registration for the primary only, and vote for Hillary in order to insure that she will be the Republicans' opponent. That's the Republican dream: to run against Hillary He even has a name for the effort: Operation Chaos. Keith Staskeiwicz should do his homework.

Who needs Lee Atwater and Karl Rove. We Democrats have the loathsome Mark Penn.

elitist is a euphanism

When Hillary and John McBush call Obama an elitist, don't they really mean to say a word they dare not utter, "uppity?"
