am i the only one?

all day i kept watching the replays of the network's calling the election for obama - on youtube and elsewhere -and it felt like he was winning again and again and again.... i was like a rat tapping the bar for another cocaine pellet.

what a great night!

part of me is oddly detached. like this must be happening to another country. i have a feeling it won't really sink in until january. fine by me!

i watched the returns on msnbc. because i just like how they talk, frankly. it's smart. i flipped over to cnn and watched bill bennett for awhile. what a load. jeffrey toobin should get his own show.

though i fear fox will become more powerful now. if you thought they were full of crap before, just wait till they swing into opposition mode. that network is tailor-made for it.

Hillary 2012 (as a Republican). you betcha!

1 + 2 + 3 = ???? eh... (shoulder shrug)

the media alters reality by creating psuedo-controversy, manufacturing conflict, often causing the actual truth to sound like an unfair accusation. the media boxes itself in -and reality out. take the recent 9/12 rally in washington. a typical story, covering the disputed figures, would have this perspective: "liberals accuse conservatives of inflating attendance numbers." or: "democrats accuse GOP of stoking racists." even if a truth were to be told -say by discussing the real, hard attendance numbers or the obvious approval by some GOPers of open race-baiting - by framing it this way, the media could be accused of taking sides -when they'd just be reporting hard facts. it's so screwed up! readers would think: oh, my gosh! they're taking the democrats side on this one! even reality must fit neatly into the game of left vs. right -liberals as angry, accusatory and untrustworthy; republicans as value-filled, middle of the roaders -the smoke thickens, it becomes impossible to remember what the issue was in the first place. this is a disservice to the nation.

we've got a LONG three years ahead of us i fear. crap like this is just the tip of the iceberg. GOP, beck, rush, etc -they can't run the country very well when they're in power -but they sure know how to yell like hell and make a racket when they're not. and it's very, very sad -the truth becomes something of a nuance -a party pooper, if you will. Acorn, 9/12, death panels. i can't imagine what we'll be talking about next week... i fear for the republic. i do.

I'll take what's behind door #3

don't get distracted! what was in the box this guy left for letterman????? there's way more to this story. but i fear we'll never know because of the media's short attention span. it's so odd how quickly letterman is trying to get out in front of this -like today, two other women came forward. (i'm sure at his urging) there's smoke here, and some fire. i ask again --what was in the package???? "one report today said it was a letter, copies of diary entries and "other information". Huh? other information? i ask: -was the girl in on it too? - are there bank statements, etc. about payoffs to other women -deviant stuff on video? what??? come on, folks. i like dave, but no free passes here.

why are we settling for half the story???
