She's not as bad as you think. She's worse.
[Read the article: "She's not as bad as you think"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]She's been coached after Mark Penn was demoted. Why should anyone believe that this is the "real" Hillary? Senator Sybill needs to get back on her meds and take a hiatus from politics. Please tell me when it's over.
-
Hillary is not a victim.
[Read the article: Obama, get ready for the "Clinton rules"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Would you quit whining about Hillary? She lied about Tuzla and you keep trying to give her cover. She screwed up and deserved to get hammered over it. As for Obama and the Clinton "rules", you think this is new? Politics has always been dirty, and yellow journalism has been around a long time. (William Randolph Hearst ring a bell?)
-
Nothing new here
[Read the article: Ken Pollack: Al Qaeda is a great "catch-all" term]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This is an old story. After 9/11, I remember a right wing talk radio host being told by a caller that the US could go anywhere by saying Bin Laden was there. And so it has been. What communism used to be, Bin Ladenism is now. (Of course the preferred term is Islamofacism. Just in case Bin Laden isn't really there.)
-
There's a bitter vote?
[Read the article: The "bitter" vote]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Thought people who were bitter didn't vote. (Like militia members. Though they sometimes vote in libertarian races.) Now some of the folks described by Obama don't vote because they're bitter. They vote for GOPers cause they're stupid. (But I'm not bitter.)
-
Ho-hum.
[Read the article: When my finger was on the button for Israel]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Given the extreme danger that exists in the middle east, young Levey's adventures sound a bit silly. Oy vey.
-
What Joan Walsh tells us
[Read the article: What Pennsylvania tells us]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Dahling, you are so in denial. Salon has dodged the most insane thing to come out of Hillary's mouth. Bomb Iran? Surely you heard her. Why no coverage? Too damaging to Hillary? Too painful to contemplate? You are mainlining the Kool aid.
-
No surprise
[Read the article: Bush rewards Petraeus with Central Command]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Oh I guess some will express shock, but get real. The general is getting rewarded and the neocons are being reassured. Can anyone say Iran?
-
Huh?
[Read the article: The GOP on the verge of imploding]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What are you talking about? The dems are in no shape to make any serious changes. As for the repubs going under, you're ignoring the dynamics of what kept the GOP going for years. The people who care the most vote. That means the repub's base will save them. Hard to beat the Bible Belt.
-
Never mind Pennsylvania
[Read the article: Looking past Pennsylvania]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Obama isn't the one who needs to get off the pedestal. Hillary needs to get off her throne and explain that nuke Iran comment. No one wants to touch it. I think it goes to the heart of her problems. Is she a democrat or a republican? That matters.
-
Sacred cow
[Read the article: Whose fault is the Clinton-Obama stalemate?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hillary says, moo. Don't think she's a sacred cow? Answer this question: Why are Hillary supporters ducking her bomb Iran statement? I expect she'd answer a question about her relationship with Huma before any Hillbot would deal with the Iran statement. Sheesh.
-
Oh please!
[Read the article: Keith Olbermann apologizes for his Clinton remark]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I just bet you're happy about it. Kinda means you have an excuse to duck the bomb Iran comment. (I know, gosh you people are so unfair!) Until you address that statement, you have zero cred. Nada. Zilch. Forget Olbermann. Recognize that a bad joke is nothing compared to a bad policy statement.
-
What's gone wrong with Krugman?
[Read the article: Krugman asks "what's gone wrong" with Obama campaign]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I don't support Hillary or Obama, but I used to think Krugman was one of the few honest economists in the US. I can't understand how he attributes such wonderous qualities to Hillary. As senator, she supported outsourcing and has played it coy over NAFTA. I don't think it's working class that is at play. Bill 3.0 and a familiar face are more likely the root of her success.
-
The end is in sight
[Read the article: Obama, Clinton spar over energy policy, industry donations]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Now these two are really sounding like politicians. (And politicians sound like small children. "Yes you did!" "No I didn't!") This thing will go to the convention and there will be a battle royal. One side or the other will lose, and those supporters will either vote for Nadar or stay home. McCain will be elected and we can all join the military to fight Iran!
-
Good post, Joan
[Read the article: Why Jeremiah Wright is so wrong]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Finally, a good post. (At least in my opinion.) Joan, you're a smart lady, and I found this post very well reasoned. I just wish you'd look at Hillary with as much clarity.

Selective commentary does no good
[Read the article: Flagging America's racial divide]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]And what about the video of Reginald Denney getting assaulted? Oops. The cheering of blacks to OJ Simpson's aquittal? Oops. I don't give a rip about how the flag is interpreted. Black america does not have clean hands. If they feel a grievance deserves a violent response, they lose the arguement.
-
God yes!
[Read the article: The Democrats' God problem]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Repubs have beat that horse to death. Trying to ape them does the dems no good. (Wright is the best example of that.) Remember that Obama's bitter comment only illustrated what the repubs have done in elections for many years. God, gays and guns. Nuff said.
-
You're wrong about Obama too
[Read the article: I was wrong about Wright]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Joan, 20 years is 20 years and I refuse to believe Obama didn't listen and go along with the nutty stuff. You can bend over backwards, but walks like duck, quacks, etc. The bottom line is Black Liberation Theology is at the heart of Wright's beliefs and Obama will have to answer if he agrees with it or not.
-
To who?
[Read the article: Does Madonna still matter?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]She and I are the same age. She was passe at the mid 90s. And that means now....?
-
Nothing.
[Read the article: What should Obama do about Rev. Jeremiah Wright?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]He's botched the entire thing. He sat in the pews for at least some of the time during the 20 years he was involved with the church. His "race speech" was a dodge. Now he wants to pull away from the man he said he couldn't pull away from before. Bye-bye Barry.
-
Just put Dr.Phil on it
[Read the article: Miley Cyrus: Daddy's little hurl]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Dr.Phill will handle it. Before you know it, they'll all be cured like hams in a smokehouse. Then throw some Barb-Q sauce on 'em and roast 'em over an open pit filled with charcoal and just a hint of mesquite. Then dump their carcases in the deep blue sea where a great white can gobble 'em up. No more problem.
-
Obama is full of it
[Read the article: Obama "outraged" by Wright]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Come on, did you think this was a shock? Obama would be more believable trying to sell a used car. Just shut up and move along
