  • So what else is new?

[Read the article: Hillary's team crosses the line]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Team Hillary employs scorched earth policy. Ho-hum. Why not get to the bottom line: Why does Hillary want to be president? What does she want to do? Is it worth the sort of nonsense she and her staff are pulling? What is she likely to do with a reluctant congress? What about dealing with campaign contributors who want things? Licoln bedroom ring a bell? Didn't we do this with Bill Clinton already? How did that work out for you?

  • She only did what she was told

[Read the article: Heckuva job, Condi]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Window dressing may not be pretty, but somebody has to do it. You can bet Bush has told the Isrealis in private that they can build whatever they want. Condi just went through the motions. Think about it, if any hardcore Israel supporters thought what she did was serious, they'd have pitched a fit. Bush has been in the tank for Israel since he visited before he became president. Supposedly "teared up" while there. No, she was there for show and nothing else.

  • Windbag alert

[Read the article: Terror and loathing]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Well, now Christopher Hitchens has some company. Blowhard blowing hard. Charming. Good luck with that.

  • Hillary's bridge is falling down, falling down.

[Read the article: Hillary's bridge back to the 20th century]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I don't get how she tries nostalgia to get votes. What makes her think people can imagine a time like the 90's where it seemed people were better off than now? I'm betting many will realize the dot.com bubble would have burst under Gore just as it would have under Bush. Then what would they have thought? Don't tell people about the past, tell them about the future.

  • The Penn is mightier than the Hillary

[Read the article: Penn attended meeting on trade deal Clinton opposes]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

What, you mean Hillary wants to have it both ways? No. Can it really be? Lets see the Hillbots explain this one.

  • Comedy isn't funny. Neither is democracy.

[Read the article: Can Stephen Colbert save America?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Yawning should replace laugh tracks and "live" audiences. Much of the late night comics are perfect snooze inducers. As for democracy, it might be funny except it remains stuck in neutral. It too provides more zzz's than yucks. Wake me when the election is over.

  • Cokie likes her job

[Read the article: Cokie Roberts speaks out on the war on behalf of the American people]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The only way the former permanent panelist on the show formerly hosted by David Brinkly can get her semi-regular appearances now is to toe the line. Period. Sam Donaldson seems to be able to stray a bit, but then he is obviously the designated naysayer. George Will hopscotches around the issue, but will support McCain and be a good repub. The fact George Stephanopolus even has a show is a mystery.

  • This is news?

[Read the article: The Iran boogeyman is back]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Bush Inc. has always had Iran in it's crosshairs. Iraq was always meant to be a staging area to attack it. This latest example of sabrerattling is just part of the ongoing campaign. Israel, AIPAC and the neocons are desperate for the US to attack Iran. With the chance that McCain might not win, the pressure increases immensely. However, even if McCain loses, there have been a number of opinons that believe the neo-cons will just move into either Obama's administration or Hillary's.

  • And how do you explain Hillary in 2008?

[Read the article: How 1968 changed Hillary]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I don't care what she did in 1968. The candidate I see now has no connection to the person described in this article. What changed her this time? Bill? Chelsea? Huma?

  • Gotta make a living

[Read the article: "Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week" kicks off]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Poor old Horowitz, he can't help it. After getting out of the lefty wing-nut brigade, he got in the righty wing-nut brigade. As he hasn't made as much money as other blowhards, (ie, Limbaugh, O'Reily, Hannity, Coulter) he opted for the neo-cons. The sad part is that he still hasn't made the big time there either. (ie, Kristol, Podhoretz) Maybe he'll find another group to latch onto for really big bucks.

  • Whoop-dee-damn-doo

[Read the article: Conyers sends out invitations to a great party]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The public has MEGO. (My eyes glaze over) I don't care what Conyers or anyone else does on capitol hill. Nothing will fix the problem in DC short of impeachment, and that ain't happening. Call me a party pooper, but I don't think dog and pony shows amount to much.

  • Guess who's coming to dinner

[Read the article: Obama and the white working class]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Where's Spencer Tracy and Kate Hepburn? This sort of awkwardness seems to eminate from the 1960's. Like his race speech, Obama trips over how to relate to whites. Since he's half black, he should be able to get 50% right, right? Why don't we do this, just move on to the next flub?

  • Mike, what happened?

[Read the article: The rubes and the elites]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Dude, I read your books and thought you were a first rate thinker. What happened? This post baffles me. You forget the Dixiecrats? The civil rights movement? The militas and Timothy McVeigh? Republicans court the voters Obama talked about. Why would you think democrats have a chance with them? Base voters? Come on. You yourself talked about falling out with William F. Buckley over the religious right. That ain't a democratic group. Get help man. Get help.

  • Get over it!

[Read the article: Hey, Obama boys: Back off already!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Fanatical supporters? Gosh, you mean women for Hillary? Let me see, she can do whatever she wants and she still gets to be president because....she's a woman? Please. I have no interest in Obama, Hillary or McCain. For those women who have this issue burning within them, try this: Explain Huma to me and I'll support Hillary. (Rules: You can't attribute it to repubs. You can't blame the press. You can't pretend it doesn't exist. You can't scream homophobia. You can't say the bedroom is off limits. Break one rule and you've lost the arguement.)

  • Leaving Iraq?

[Read the article: Iraq: The ten commandments]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Wow, you've got quite the imagination! Regardless of the any of the three candidates who gets elected, we will not be leaving Iraq. None of your concerns affects the desire of either party to cater to AIPAC, the oil business, or the military industrial complex. Money matters. Pelosi has knelt before AIPAC and a number of capitol hill types have made it clear they consider Iran to be public enemy number one. None of your commandments mean squat to the DC gang. You can file your 10 commandments under things that will not happen.

  • Radioactive fallout. Not!

[Read the article: The fallout from the Democratic debate]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

This non-event is so trivial that by the next news cycle, it'll be forgotten. The comedic angle is little Georgie that used to work for Madam Hillary tried to damage her rival. Can anyone say lame?
