Go Girl!!

OK, Hillary is FINALLY getting the message. ATTACK MCCAIN. Go girl.

I'm an Obama fan (for now) but this strategy makes me like Hillary a lot more. I've heavily and severely criticized her on this board, almost relentlessly, for her double-talk and low blows to Obama.

I hope she keeps this up. This way, she definitely will get more votes, her star will rise, she will seem more presidential, more of a leader, more of a Democratic team player, whether she gets the nomination or not. If she finishes with a flair, she'll be much better off.

Original article: Hillary Clinton's petition

To All Hillary Supporters (including Ms. Walsh)

Hillary's call to seat these "rogue" delegates is completely hollow given her conduct.

First, she pledged to not "participate" in these states, as the statement reads that she had signed (as all candidates did). She seemed not to care one iota about the rights of these voters. Show me one instance prior to these contests where she screams and hollers about violating the right to be heard, please, just one link.

Secondly, just last week, Hillary said that pledged delegates, yes, pledged delegates, are not bound to any particular candidate, and that they, also, may vote their consciences, that is, have a change of heart and vote for her. They are just like superdelegates. So, using basic logic here, what is the purpose, then, of even having a vote? If delegates can choose whom they want, why not just have a convention and do away with the primary altogether? It will save money and we could have the party elders choose a candidate for us.

These two pieces of evidence completely demolish her own arguments. I therefore cannot support her tactics here. Michigan, and Florida, therefore, should be disqualified, because, yes, the DNC screwed the pooch on this one, and all the candidates went along. I wish it were not this way, but, it is, and Hillary must learn to deal with the situation the way it is.

A Colossal Error of Judgment-Just Like Her Iraq War Vote

This is simply, unambiguously outrageous. You add up the NAFTA lies, the stupid lie about enduring sniper fire in Bosnia, and this, and you've got one really f**ed up candidate.

Folks, you've got to think twice about how this chick would run a White House. It doesn't look pretty. She's up to her armpits in deep do-do, almost exclusively of her own making.

It's difficult to feel sorry for her.

McCain leads in hypothetical match-ups according to CNN

But by statistically small margins (actually Obama is tied).

This all means that those within the Democratic who believe that a prolonged fight only benefits the party are delusional. The pollsters note that many Clinton/Obama supporters are claiming to vote for McCain in the fall if their nominee doesn't win. My take on this is that they are not Democrats to begin with. How could they be?

McCain is a pathetic grandpa who doesn't know the difference between Sunni and Shia, and believes that Reagan actually cut deficits.

Talk about senile...

Steve Benen

Keep on doing War Room, please.

You're a lot better than Alex and just as good as Tim Grieve.

I think what Obama said is absolutely true

I don't find his remarks "uppity" or "out of touch." He is simply explaining how people vote against their own self-interests. Bush won Texas in 1994 on a platform of "God, gays, and guns," according to Molly Ivins (god love her soul!), and this is repeated nationally by the RNC. So, I think he's quite on the mark.

I also find Joan's column here a little over the top, and her anti-Obama bias is huge. However, I do give her credit with being honest about it. I still disagree with her strongly in that category: I find Clinton's ACTIONS to be much more elitist than Obama's (remember Clinton says that words don't matter, it's action that matters), conducting her campaigns as if she is inherently deserving of a coronation.

Obama is correct that the Clinton administration left behind a lot of the working class. This is the problem I have with Hillary, is that she is too centrist. I'm willing to give Obama a chance to be president, as his record is not as centrist as Hillary's.

These "He said, she said" Things Are Bogus

They are NOT issues. I really don't care that much about these so-called "gaffes" or "flaps." Yes, Obama can be clumsy, and Hillary just downright stupid ("I remember sniper fire"), but these things are not issues.

I don't know why Hillary is going on and on about what Obama said, since she's told us over and over that "words don't count, actions do" so she seems to not know which way she wants to go.

We have a president who's admitted to breaking the law (torture), a Republican nominee who wants to continue to rob our grandkids so ExxonMobil can have cheap access to oil, a healthcare crisis, a lying Attorney General (imagine that!), a mortgage meltdown, decaying infrastructure, etc. and the media want to focus on this BS?? Rome is burning and it's all bread and circuses for the bitter folks in Pennsylvania?
