You know, I agree. Salon should discuss this more. I just can't believe that the Obama campaign was SO STUPID as to consult with the Canadians. This is just asinine.
War Room and Salon don't report on several things. For example, Joan Walsh has refused to take on Clinton's cheating by trying to seat delegates from MI and FL from a bogus election. Yes, politicians (some) will do anything to get elected, and this new Obama flap highlights that they are all cut from the same cloth. And this is a HUGE issue that can really sink the Dems in November. So...there you are.
Maybe I'll vote for Nader...naw, he seems as egomaniacal as Clinton at this point. A self-righteous ass.
That you should consider the one HUGE issue that no one is bringing up: Hillary wants those MI and FL delegates seated from a bogus election!!! She agreed to not campaign, and not recognize those delegates but now that she "won" the so-called election in both states, she wants those delegates to win.
From my point of view, this is the huge issue that makes Hillary rotten to the core. And she has a website to promote her lying and cheating ways to justify it. Obama, in my opinion, has done nothing so sleazy. If he did or does, I withdraw support to him.
I'm one of these people who is leaning to NOT vote for Hillary because of the delegate issue.
Michelle, also, I'm confused as to why you would not vote for a candidate because of the SUPPORTERS? Who cares about them? You don't vote for the supporters to staff the White House.
The general election.
Watch out, folks, the queen of sleaze will try the following:
1. Seat the MI and FL delegates to HER advantage (cheating).
2. Go after pledged delegates, even though she says she won't.
3. Go even more negative and nasty than you've seen her yet. I wouldn't be surprised if she starts circulating more Muslim crap and/or pictures. Soft on terror, etc.
4. She will repeat over and over that McCain offers "experience" just like she does.
This is one sleazy chick. She cares NOTHING about the party. It's all about Hillary.
She has 0% chance of winning a general election against McCain. I hope she goes down in flames, big time. I don't wish her well. She has shown herself to be extremely selfish, self-centered, and mean. She cares nothing about anyone else. And to think she ran an ad in Texas where she gets up in the morning and tries to figure out how to help people!!!
What depresses me even more is that I may be forced to vote for her over McCain, for the sake of the country. I don't know if I can trust her to get us out of Iraq. Uggh.
Joan,
You have finally set me at ease. I was extremely worried about you for a while, but you've finally tackled THE issue of the campaign.
Yes, FL and MI should vote again. I'm so happy to read that you think these delegates should NOT be seated as is from a bogus election (Hillary is pushing for this, which is why I'm extremely negative toward her at this moment).
I think your point is correct: democracy may be expensive, but a re-vote must be held.
I suppose we can thank the Dem big-wigs for this disaster, for setting the ball in motion. I'm sure that Hillary thought she would have a coronation, rather than a close election. I love to see big-shots taken down a few pegs; I think ultimately this is good for her to be humbled, she is way too arrogant.
If Hillary were to somehow win, she would have to redeem herself in my eyes to win my vote.
For the record, I held my nose and tossed my vote to Obama yesterday here in Ohio (I love Kucinich, but he's out anyway, and lately he's become so self-righteous). Obama has several negatives, first and foremost is the rhetoric about "reaching across" party lines to "get things done." I don't think it's so easy. And besides, reaching out to rabid right-wingers is a dangerous thing. I suppose he hasn't learned that. Sometimes you can't negotiate with foaming-at-the-mouth lunatics.
There is one quality I've always admired about Clinton, which is the same thing that has pissed me off about her: her fiestiness. I know she won't take any right-wing shit, she's very good at that. But when she started her nasty crap against Obama, from her own party-she's just like Lady McBeth- she got too power-hungry, too selfish, and damn with the party. It's all about Hillary.
I sincerely hope that she's reigned in by wiser folks. Otherwise, this disaster, which is partially of her own making, will consume us all and we'll end up with McCain.
My fear is that you are 100% correct!!!
I, too, believe that now that Hillary has been rewarded with some victories, these victories do little in the way of catching Obama. She now will have a campaign that destroys the party, blood on the floor at the convention, etc. This negativity, this dishonesty, will eat away at any democrat, even IF she gets her way!
I also don't think she would have any "coat-tails" for candidates down field on any ballot.
I'm not rooting for her, no, not if she acts this way. Will she clean up her act? I doubt it. She's too ingrained in her ways.
