I was a part-time ho a while ago, but obviously, I only did guys (I'm gay), and always older guys at that. I wouldn't think there is much of a market for straight male guys who only do women. I would think that the vast majority of male prostitutes cater to men only (as others have pointed out).

The work is NOT glamorous, by any standard. It can be dangerous; there are lots of guys who want to get fucked while they're high, or while on some sort of stimulant or alcohol. There are plenty of documentaries of the dangers of male/male prostitution. Let's face it: MEN ARE DANGEROUS compared to women, period (no pun intended). That's why I always preferred doing the regular guys, you knew what to expect, you knew what to do, take the money, and then get the fuck out of there. I can't believe that I did all that crap and never got hurt, or arrested (although I did have a few cases where I left right away sensing danger). Crazy shit! Almost as crazy as Sarah Palin.

Doing women would probably be a lot safer, physically, but there just isn't the market.

Another issue is that the American people are profoundly, profoundly, ignorant of the issues. These issues are complex. And since 80% don't have passports, they don't travel to other first world countries and see/talk to residents how they receive their health care.

The American people are duped into believing their health care is great. It's not: it sucks, for many reasons. Keeping the insurance companies in the mix will only drive up costs. The ignorant opposition has some grains of truth to the plan, but don't fully understand the magnitude of the problem. So we are left with spiraling costs, and then more spiraling costs as everyone is insured under private plans. This is disastrous.

And did you protest Bush while he was financing a trillion dollar war off the books? Did you feel that Bush was "shoving" the war down your throat?

I would love to take people like you seriously, but really, the right-wing droolers in this country have no plausible, reasonable argument 90% of the time. I wish it were otherwise.

I look at these town-hallers and think to myself "I highly doubt that a majority of these people even know the basics of how insurance companies operate. Do they know what "recission means?"

Sigh.

If you can argue from a scientific perspective, I'll read it, regardless of your conclusion. But you can't ignore monumental amounts of data contrary to your point of view without at least addressing it, or explaining it in some way. Paglia does not address the hard issues, she glosses over them dishonestly. Not a mark of intelligent writing. She confuses literary wit and flair for substance; don't buy it, it's just window dressing to cover up her lack of arguments to address her opposition.

Why? Because Obama is a capitalist politician, who bends to the will of the rich and powerful. Not progressive.

Most likely he will be a one-term president, who will be succeeded by a Republican. The country will go further down the drain and become a full-fledged, full time Fascist state. Only after everyone loses everything will the masses get a clue and stop being brain-washed.

In these times, at these junctures, I have no faith in the masses. They love to watch Fox News, they live to be ignorant, uneducated, and stupid. It is easier; people drift toward a Messiah demagogue who has all the answers (Limbaugh, Beck, Palin, Robertson) because it pleases them emotionally. It takes courage, maturity, blood, sweat, and tears to work hard, to question and agitate. Most people are passive and weak by nature, and only when they are completely devastated, and have nothing, will they then wake up. Sometimes it is too late by that time. Again, I have no faith in the American people at this point. They will have to lose a lot more to wake up.

Obama doesn't have enough votes for a public option. What we'll get is more of the same: socialism for the insurance companies as more and more people get covered under PRIVATE plans. This will waste more money.

Obama is a wimp who will not fight for the working class. He is too tied to big capital.
