Oh for crying out loud!

Would Obama PLEASE show the birthers the LONG FORM of his birth certificate so these guys will shut up and we can get actually talk about more important matters???!!!

@ kristinp

"it would set a precedent for any conspiracy theorist (or clinical paranoid) on the planet to be taken seriously."

Oh please, like that's never happened before. I seriously don't agree with the birthers at all...see nothing to keep Obama from producing the long form of his certificate, telling them here it is now shut the H@LL up and let's get on with things.

After all, others have done the same thing. Remember Dan Rather and the unauthenticated Killian documents?

@ Natty-J

"I suppose if the good folks in PA, clinging to their guns n' jesus, had wanted a DEM senator, they would have voted against Spector in the last election, no?"

On this, we agree!

@ Citizen_X

"Why bother? All you Birthers are racists."

You prove yourself a racist right here. You group all of them into one catagory without looking at the individuals. Physician, heal thyself.

"You're not, you say? Prove it. Each and every one of you Birther nutjobs: prove you're not a racist. Until you do so, we can safely assume you're all just suffering from NITWHO Syndrome (N***** in the White House)."

Proving a negative is impossible as you would have to look at all of them. However, there are some that of different races and religions. You aren't makeing a good point here, you know.

@ kristinp

"Again, conspiracy theorists are never, ever satisfied. They're irrational. They'll dream up literally anything to maintain the theory."

Of course not...but if you provide the lynch-pin of their argument and they continue to try to make their argument, then everyone would know them mad...as would those in the media who are backing them up.

"If the "long form" were produced, they would claim the "long form" is a fake created by the state of Hawaii on Obama's command."

Impossible to do so as it would be analyzed by everyone...as was the short form. But whatever...he's the CINC regardless of what others say.

@ Kattty9

"Specter has had a lot of support from Democrats in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh (aka the non-"guns n' jesus parts of Pennsylvania). Ironically, this has a lot to do with the fact that he is pro-choice, unlike many of his Democratic opponents over the years."

Perhaps...but it appears that support isn't helping much right now.

The Blue Dogs flunk obedience school?

Depends on your point of view, I guess.

After all, if they were not doing what their constituents were asking them to do, they would be taking a beating like Mike Castle did over voting for Cap and Trade. So far I haven't heard one of them getting raked over the coals like Castle did.

So I suspect they are being very obedient...to the ones who put them into office!

And considering that less than 50% polled want this health care bill, one has to wonder if the lack of obedience is on the side of those pushing for it to be passed.

@ sourdough

So you haven't seen anything you'd cut out? How about the part on Page 16, which even the House Ways and Means Committee agrees, indicates that once the bill becomes law, insurers would no longer be permitted to sell new private individual coverage? - Rep. Dave Camp, the ranking member on Ways and Means, said "any existing plan will not be able to enroll members." There will be "a prohibition," the Michigan Republican said, "on enrolling individuals in private health plans" after the bill becomes law in 2013.

Or how about the fact that Congresspeople will be exempt from taking this Universal healthcare for 5 years...with an option to not take it permanently after that?

You wouldn't want to cut these out?

BWHAHAHAHAHA!!!

The most transparent Administration ever...INDEED! LOL

Physician, heal thyself! LOL

@ mattwa33186

"Can't cut out the part prohibiting new private health insurance policies - it gets even more expensive if they do that."

Absolutely correct. Frankly it sounds like a Ponzi scheme - or maybe Social Security - to me. And we all know how THAT turns out, considering Social Security is almost broke.

@ JFrankParnell

"Thanks again, BushCo, for sodomizing the Republic before killing it. All hail Emperor George!"

Indeed...and IF George Bush has setup a dynasty as you proclaim, wouldn't it then be:

All Hail Emperor Obama the Second?

Wednesday, July 22, 2009 12:23 PM

@ runfastandwin

"Obama invited execs to the White House to woo them over to his side. Bush invited execs to the White House to WRITE the legislation."

Really? And out of curiosity, how do you KNOW Bush had the execs write the legislation? And even if he did, it would have taken a majority vote of Congress to pass it and as such they would have known all about the legislation, yes?

"Apparently the Republicans who ran this place from 2000-2006 were unaware that someday there might be a Democrat in office. Hoist on your own petard says I. Suck it losers."

Well then apparently we will never know who goes in or out of the White House. BTW, Congress has had Democrats in charge for two years of the Bush White House...so why WASN'T legislation passed to do this? Good question.

Wednesday, July 22, 2009 12:45 PM

@ sonofloud

"I guess that only applies to blowjobs." And even THAT only applies if your under oath and have to tell the truth or face perjury.

Other than that, you can hide who comes to the White House all you want, I suppose.

OUTSTANDING!!!

This is EXACTLY what needs to happen. We need time to actually work out something that won't break the bank but will make healthcare available too!

Yeah, this is GREAT!

Maybe, if they work it out right, the Republicans and Democrats can JOINTLY work out a bill that works for everyone. Now wouldn't that be something to see???!!!
