@ The Notorious W.E.S.

"But it will be reduced to a bunch of radio blow-hards---who have never served but who love the military with all their heart, mind, and soul---talking to about 15 or 20 percent of the population."

Do you REALLY believe that most of those who listen to talk radio are non-military??? I suggest you check out the fact that the government tried to take Rush off the military airwaves and a majority of the military personnel complained about it.

Doesn't say much for your theory, does it?

@ Lynx

You sure don't seem to be very old. I lived through Reagan's term, as well as Carter's, Ford's and Nixon's as well.

I kept up with history quite a bit...including during the Viet Nam war. I think I have a pretty good grasp of history.

But you believe what you will...I will await to see if the things I have predicted will occur.

"But I think it's going to be a bit of everything capped off with nuclear war. Just as the libs lie to the people, they lie to foreign nations. And they have nukes."

I can only assume our enemies are at least as smart as we are. Given that, they would attack when we are least able to defend ourselves...which would be at the height of civil unrest. At least, that is what I would do.

So, I would say that if we did in fact have another civil war on our hands, our enemies would be waiting in the wings to finish off the "victor".

@ Toekutter

"New product in the late 1980's? Personal computers were developed and sold since the late 1970's."

True, but it was not as popular and produced and sold as much as when it was in the late 1980s. The previous versions were purchased but not as much as at this time.

"As for the Dot-Com Bubble it was unsustainable like all such bubbles inflated on excessive speculation. The US v Microsoft case played a part in the bear market but a shakeout of internet retailers due to poor sales did the rest. The business plans of many of these endeavors were non-existent and they died."

Of course it was unsustainable and the bubble would have inevitably burst...I am not arguing such. I AM saying the bubble might have continued on for a few more years if the DOJ hadn't burst it early by going after Microsoft.

She was

asked her opinion and she gave it. And because it was not the answer that the judge expected (or wanted) she has been castigated for it.

I believe that if you can't handle an opinion that is not something you agree with, don't ask the question.

If they strip her of her title, I would advise her to make a mockup of her sash and tiara and then put a burka over herself with the tiara and sash on the outside.

Since they seem to want to penalize her for her opinions like they do in the Arabic countries, she may as well LOOK the part.

@ sawbuck

"another reason why beauty queens and athletes should not be allowed to speak into microphones."

I agree except to add movie stars, TV stars, singers, dancers, some political appointees, and a few others as well.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

About TIME you guys figured out that Obama is a politician, just like everyone else!

There WERE those of us who tried to tell you Hillary was a better candidate, but NOOOOO! You have to go with a guy with almost NO experience at all...thinking the change would do us good.

Fat chance of THAT now.

@ timothy3

And why NOT laugh? What ELSE is there to do? We're committed to this Administration for another 3 1/2 more years now.

Do you suggest something else we can do other than laugh?

@ normbreyfogle

"There's always creating art, writing your congressmen, organizing, demonstrating, blogging, arguing persuasively to your neighbors, praying, and a host of other efforts to raise the consciousness of your fellow men and women. Choose your battlefield."

A nice notion...except for the fact it will do no good against what this Administration wants to do for another 3 1/2 years or so. Now it WOULD do some good concerning Congress in the next year and 1/2 or so...but until then, we writhe before the power that is currently in office!

"I agree. I should've included "violent rebellion" as an option (for some). Like I wrote: choose your battlefield.

Me? I'm a lover, not a perpetrator of violence. I prefer a revolution of the mind. After all, that's the only kind of revolution that has any real chance of lasting. We require enlightenment more than fighting. But, to everything there's a season."

Ah, so you have NO problem with violent rebellion as long as YOU don't have to do it. Got it.

Look, short of that (and there's NO WAY I'm going down THAT road), nothing we do will affect this Administration for years. All we can do is watch, wait, hope and laugh...PERIOD.

Well, that and hope those who did vote for him learned something.

Original article: Dark days for the right

Dark days for the right?

With Obama alienating his own party? With the House Speaker caught in a lie and worse in a war with the CIA? With the Democratic party about to split because of Obama's recent actions???

Seems to me the Republican party should be celebrating right now. 2010 looks pretty good for them right now...heck, so does 2012, IMO!!!
