Sorry but

History has made it's decision about Ronald Reagan. He is and will always be considered one of the greatest Presidents we've ever had.

BTW, History has not yet judged George W either. I suspect History will be kinder to him than many here suspect.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

"Won't return?" He's never left them. He's already using them and will continue to use them as that's all he, and the retread cabinet he's putting into place, knows what to do. And of course, it will FAIL...unfortunately NOT before putting the country into such a large hole we may NEVER recover from it.

I have to agree with McCain...we are committing "generational theft." Hope those of you who have about 30 or 40 years of work ahead of you enjoy paying for it.

I guess

if you consider being told "I won" as being consulted, then yes, the Republicans were "consulted".

Obama asked the Republicans for ideas, they gave them, Obama thanked them for the ideas and proceeded to reject them, the Republicans said they could not support the bill as is, and Obama effective said "I won" so get over it.

Yeah, THAT'S consultation alright.

Seems Obama Is Having Trouble Filling His Cabinet

So much for having a bipartisan cabinet.

The man is radioactive and it seems he can only attract those who have a problem in their past or those who just can't work for him for ethical reasons.

What a shame.

Thursday, February 12, 2009 02:07 PM

Heh

Considering he was a Republican...you figure it out.

Thursday, February 12, 2009 02:19 PM

Bwhahahahah

Say what you will...but he IS having problems filling in his cabinet.

And, as you must know, the reason he lost Gregg is because he was taking away the Census, effectively making the position a figurehead.

Bipartisan...uh huh.

Oh well, we'll see what the next nomination's problem are.

Have a nice day...because I sure am. 8^)

Too late Glenn

The Democrats in Crongress have already betrayed their constituents by breaking a promise they already made.

They promised the American public to post the Stimulus bill on the web 48 hours before voting for it...and they failed to do that.

Seems you can't trust anyone these days, doesn't it.

Friday, February 13, 2009 09:37 AM

Oh well

At least THIS cabinet nominee dropped out over principles and NOT a scandals!

Friday, February 13, 2009 11:24 AM

Oh yeah, THIS is leadership!

So I guess the Democrats have it all in hand...I am getting such a warm fuzzy right now...NOT!

Thank God

The Democrats have to have at least some votes in the Senate. There's still a possibility this pork-ridden boondoggle can be stopped!

Friday, February 13, 2009 12:25 PM

Thank God

With any luck this travesty of a bill will be defeated!

Friday, February 13, 2009 12:34 PM

And BTW

given the fact they weren't even given time to READ the damn thing, I think a no vote was most logical.

Those who didn't have time to read it and voted yes were most irresponsible and shouldn't BE Congresspeople, IMO!

What makes me think they haven't read it?!

Are you kidding?

Take a look at this:

Boehner Floor Speech on Democrats' Trillion-Dollar Spending Bill

And yet even though a lot of Congresspeople fail to even read it they voted YES for it!

@ R.Thompson

Are you completely dense? It WAS laden with pork...what it has not no one has a clue. If it was passed as is, then it definitely had pork in it and from what I've read of the compromise, it still has pork in it.

What concerns me more is, there could be ANYTHING in there and they are voting YES on it! Hell, it could be saying there will now be unending term limits for President or whatever.

The point is, they don't know WHAT they are voting for!

@ nancerich

I seem to recall the Democrats PROMISING to give the public 48 hours to review bills PRIOR to their being voted on.

While the Republicans did have abuses, it does NOT excuse what the Democrats are doing.

You might want to remember that their abuses is part of the reason WHY the Democrats gained a majority.

@ nancerich

Jeez, you are DENSE.

I SAID it was laden with pork the FIRST time and from everything I've read, it still is.

The problem is, NOW they are voting on something which may or may not contain things they don't know about.

Do you REALLY want your Congress to just pass legislation without even know what the H@LL is in it?!

If you do, then you are no better than the Republicans you find fault with passing the Patriot act!

@ Cultural Amnesia

They had weeks to read it in it's DRAFT form...not in the final product.

Is it too much to ask that a vote be postponed for a couple of days so they could read it prior to voting for or against it??

Friday, February 13, 2009 01:27 PM
Original article: House passes stimulus

@ Juliebird

I know pork will be part of any bill. The problem is, they are signing off on it without knowing EXACTLY what is in it.

Would you be happy if it instituted a draft for the military? Of course not...yet it COULD have been in there and WE wouldn't know.

THAT'S what I'm worried about. They don't know everything in the final product of the bill...only what was in the draft prior to the vote.

So does emulating those you despise.

There will be a day they will rue this. Sad...they had some promise too.
