I agree with Reid

Let the Democrats get what they want...they have the 60 votes necessary to pass it. Let the Republicans sit by, vote no on it and then let it pass fully on the Democratic vote.

That way, if it succeeds, then the Democrats get the credit alone...but conversely, if it fails, it lands squarely on the Democrats shoulders.

Let's see if they can make a workable plan.

I would just be happy

if this idiot would guarantee to keep his disgusting mouth shut and show up to vote on time!

Sorry but

Navratilova has the legal rights here. She was NOT married legally to Toni Layton and BOTH of them knew this and know it now. As such, Toni took her chances...period.

Is it fair? Well both knew they weren't legally bonded and both knew they were taking their chances the other would not leave...so as far as I'm concerned, everything is above board and fully fair.

Ok

Well there are men and women serving in the miltary today that think we should hound these maggots to the gates of Hell and back.

I happen to be one of them.

Probably not

Given the attraction Obama had with his ABC special on healthcare. Seems very few people even watched...and health care is a bigger issue for people than global warming.

I think the honeymoon is over for Barrack and he's spent all the good will he has now.

@ vishnu13

"Is freedom only the ability to get ultra-wealthy?" No - freedom is the CHANCE to get ultra-wealthy...an EQUAL chance shared by ALL Americans.

"I see it the other way around. People don't need to go hat in hand to charities if instead they are expecting a government service."

So what is the difference between going hat in hand to a charity and going hat in hand to the government? One is charity freely given from the heart and one is state induced enforced charity...but they're BOTH charity.

@chiefpayne

"Sorry, but your either/or scenario isn't valid, or true, or logical. Money is a huge impediment with a move of that kind. Yes, I really, really, really would move in a heartbeat if I could afford to. Money IS the holdup, it's real, it's the truth, and it doesn't grow on trees. Even in America."

Indeed...yet young kids work like demons and get what they want. So if you really want to go, work your butt off, save your money and go.

Or, get a job with an overseas business and move...and let them pay for it. KBR or Haliburton have interests in Germany and a couple of other non-combat zones you could get a job in. And they'll PAY you to move.

You can do it, if you really WANT to.

"Then the militaristic wing of our nation would be forced to moderate their destructive ways. I see our invation of Iraq as a bigger boon to our enemies then your blurred vision of a nation with no military."

Ah so you're upset the military went into Iraq even though they were ordered to by the Executive which was supported by the Legislature. Oh and BTW, one of the things the government is charged with is defending the country.

"And bloated isn't relative, it is 651 billion for the year 2009 alone. And you like how the government runs the military? Then you love how the military does health care, it's called the VA. We all deserve such excellent care."

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! YOU'VE obviously NEVER served in the military, have you? RARELY do you get a doctor that really cares if you hurt or not...their ONLY mission in life is to get you back on your feet...and if that means you have to hurt, then buddy you HURT! Quality care...right! And the VA??? Short stocked, short handed, doctors having to put on paper one approved surgery to get a life saving one done...yeah, I REALLY like how those guys operate.

"And by the way, here is an actual study using real numbers (by the CBO) that say Bush's tax cuts benefitted solely the rich"

Trickle down economics works every time. You GOTTA LOVE it! :-)

"As for going there. I would if I could afford to. In a New York minute."

I'll tell you the same thing I told vishnu...if you really want to go there, you can FIND a way to make it happen. So either you really don't want to move badly enough or you don't necessarily believe everything you're saying.

@ vishnu13

"Because it's too expensive to up and move yourself to another country, there are some pretty high hurdles in doing so. That is the kind of thing rich people do. But to fight for what I think is the right thing here, where I am now, now that I can afford."

Bull! If you really wanted to move there, you could FIND a way to make it happen. Seriously, I've seen kids mowing lawns, etc to make money to do what they had a passion to do. So you if REALLY wanted to move, you'd find a way to make it happen.

So either you don't believe enough in what you are saying, or you really don't want to move enough to make it happen.
