    madamfauntleroy,

"You are a man with a cold heart. Just so you know, the kids who join the military, most of them come from poor families, white or black. Your statement only shows that you and the warmongers in this country have such little regard for lives of people who do not belong to a certain strata of society."

Madam, you could not be more incorrect. I happen to currently BE in the US Army and worry about my troops all the time. BUT I know they are NOT children, but grown men and women who have made a decision to join the US military. Further, you are also incorrect in saying most come from poor families...they come from ALL walks of life and different backgrounds. Finally, I (like many currently in the military) am amused by your term of warmonger...no one who has to go fight a war WANTS to do that. What sane person would want to willingly get shot at? BUT, we swear an oath to do what our Commander-in-Chief tells us to do and, after being given orders, get in and do the best we can to get the job done!

Frankly Madam, I believe you should talk to the people in the military BEFORE making statements you don't comprehend.

    Saltine,

"So, should a woman be forced to take responsibility for her being raped and impregnated from that rape?"

Well, let's flip that question - Is it the baby's fault that the women was raped and impregnated from that rape?

"As a side note, that argument always ends up seeming like a baby is a necessary punishment for the "irresponsible" action of having sex. It doesn't seem to be a very healthy way of looking at things, if a fetus is carried to term it should be because its wanted, not because its a bizarre archaic form of punishment."

If a baby is carried to full term and is not wanted, there is always the option of putting it up for adoption. Yet that option is rarely mentioned. I actually wonder why that is.

    Confucius Always Say,

"Ah yes, the Catholic Church, that paragon of responsibility-taking for terrible actions! Why, watching the news one is struck by the numerous and highly sincere instances of Catholicism taking responsibility and apologizing for its many crimes over the centuries, and doing what it can to make amends and set the historical record straight! In fact, the spectacle of the Catholic hierarchy falling all over themselves to take responsibility for the Church's collaboration with Nazism and fascism in 1930s-1940s Europe, as well as its vast and largely successful efforts to coddle and protect thousands of kiddie rapist priests over the past century, sets a shining example of ethical and moral conduct for all of us to follow!"

And this problem with the Catholic Church makes my argument incorrect HOW exactly?

BTW, just because some of the Catholic Bishops do something wrong does not mean their actions are condoned by the people of the Church. As I recall when their actions came to light to the PEOPLE of the church, punishments ensued.

    Weeping,

    "has no experience in Government,"

This is technically a lie. Maybe elaborate on what you mean here.

Actually, in point of fact, NONE of the candidates have experience in running a government, like a governor would do. They ALL have experience in the legislature side but NO experience in the executive matters of government.

So I think you're both right.

    sunspot.

"If she's so brilliant, why can't she remember what actually happened on her trip to Bosnia? Or to Ireland? Or what happened to her billing records, for that matter . . ."

Or what Bill was up to in the White House while SHE was still THERE, for that matter? I mean, if you don't know what your hubby is doing with an intern (interns) in your own living quarters, how smart CAN you be???

    Panask,

"This is non-responsive. Your original argument was "If you want to play, you'd better be able to pay." The fact that some women are raped - and therefore didn't "want to play," but, in your world, have to "pay" anyway - questions that argument rather directly. Your response does not answer that question, but rather raises a different issue altogether."

Not exactly Panask. If a woman is raped and she becomes pregnant, that is a tradegy...but two wrongs don't make a right, so why is killing another innocent party ok.

The child is innocent yet it's ok to get rid of them. It is not the child's fault that their mother was raped...so why take it out on them?
