re: Tired of this crap too.

ShawnWM,

"And what shred of evidence to you have to support this utter b.s.. Other than Rush Limbaugh's pandering to your stupidity to play a lttle reverse psychology with what he was really doing."

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080422/ap_on_el_pr/primary_exit_poll_glance_4

"One in 10 voters changed their party registration since the start of the year so they could vote in the hotly contested primary, which was open only to registered Democrats. About half of the party-switchers had been registered Republicans and the rest had been unaffiliated with either party. Another roughly 3 percent were voting for the first time in Pennsylvania."

"Indiana's Democratic chairman said his party is ready to challenge the votes of any lifelong Republicans who attempt to vote as Democrats in the May 6 primary. Indiana Democratic Party Chairman Dan Parker said he is concerned Republicans may try to cast crossover votes to skew results in the close presidential primary between U.S. Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama."

Well, you get the idea. Apparently, I am not the ONLY person to suspect this.

The federal judge RULED?

"a federal judge ruled that all this federal foot-dragging is illegal, ordering the Bush administration to make a decision about the bears' status by May 15 at the latest."

Or else...WHAT exactly? Will the federal judge hold our federal government in contempt of court?

Sound like a judge urinating in the wind to me.

The "judgment" holds no water because there are no (as far as I can see) any penalties if the Bush Administration does NOT follow what this judge has ruled.

I find this study

irrelevant. Because each case should be judged on it's own merit. And having 12 whites out of 100 vs. 17 African Americans out of 100 given the death penalty not that large a disperity.

Now if you would like to see full numbers of people on death row, that would probably a better comparison. Yet even then, you would have to look at that number vs. the total number of those who commit crimes to see if the number is that unreasonable.

The problem is, it ISN'T that unreasonable.

Iran complains about comments

and WE should give a gigantic steaming pile of crap about this BECAUSE...???

Iran is about the size of Texas...so why should WE care what they think?

Original article: Quote of the day

Alex

NONE of the politicans understand the problems the average American faces with the high price of gasoline.

Larry King had to correct Nancy Pelosi, who thought the average cost of gasoline was $2.50 a gallon, explaining it was actually $3.50 a gallon...and expected to go to $4.00 shortly.

No, NONE of the politicans understand the problems.

Maybe if THEY had to get out and fill up and pay for their OWN gasoline, maybe THEN they would understand.

While I

understand that SOMETHING must be done to provide relief from the high prices AND that this is better than NOTHING, I believe this is the equivalent of putting a bandaid on a sucking chest wound.

We need to uncap the oil wells we have, drill for more, build more refineries, and aggressively search for more and better alternative sources.

Further, I believe an immediate relief is to remove all federal and state taxes on gasoline until such time as Congress deems it reduced enough to justify reinstatement of said taxes.

I believe the above is the ONLY way to do this...unfortunately, I further believe Congress will not be able to remove their various heads from their rectums in order to accomplish this.

@ manos99

"I know what you're saying, Hillary has such a unique handle on how to speak to heads of state."

Frankly, I cannot see ANY of the current Presidential candidates with a good handle how to speak to heads of state.

After all, NONE of them have been in an executive position...ALL of them have been Senators.

Frightening, isn' it.

Consumers pay the tax

"Economists think the tax is generally passed forward to the retailer translating into a higher retail gas sales price. Thus, the consumer ultimately pays the tax."

Well, no SH*T! And if you raise the taxes on the Oil Companies? WHO do you think will pay THAT tax???

The ONLY way I see to fix this is to:

1. Drop all taxes on gas per gallon at least until the price drops

2. Uncap and use the oil we already have

3. Drill for more oil as quickly as possible

4. Build more refineries

5. Aggressively invest in alternative fuel sources

If they don't distinguish themselves???

Are you kidding? I've seen women blown up in IED attacks, while in the process of doing their jobs. If THAT doesn't distinguish you from the crowd then nothing will.

I understand the problem though. People do NOT want to see dead, or even disfigured, women...simple as that. And while we do have some coming out of theatre, the number of men vs. women dying or seriously injured FAR outnumber them.

Granted, it's old fashioned but people are more inclined to deal with dead and injured men rather than women during a war.

It isn't fair or pretty...but it's true!

Welcome to being an adult

You will never be anything BUT a kid until you move out, find a job, and get a life away from your parents.

Until then you are just a kid...simple as that.

And frankly, your parents AREN'T doing you any favors by LETTING you mooch off them. They SHOULD have told you at your high school graduation to go to college, go to a technical school or find a job...period!
