DNFTs

It is pretty clear by now that dimbulb is a mentally ill person. For example, he is sure that there are giant trees on Mars and that he is part of some kind of secret society that knows the TRUTH.

I rather doubt he even has a finance, though who knows, and it is pretty clear that either he doesn't have a job or has one where his employer allows him to monitor BroadSheet on a minute by minute basis. Since I doubt that, I expect that one day his mom will cut his basement access off. But in the meantime, feeding his manias is not helpful. I do think compassion is called for, really, and this case, compassion amounts to refusing to engage. It is all you can do on the intertubes.

Similarly with symbol one time ObnoxAnon guy, have you noticed how he gets about a third of the first ten posts on any BS article? Doesn't have anything much better to do than shit on feminists, really, obsessively reads BroadSheet to the degree that it makes it clear that he is not doing useful work for anyone. Apparently got screwed over by the family court system (who hasn't, that have had contact with it) and just can't let go of his rage, to the point that he too apparently has no other thing to occupy his time and attention than BroadSheet (and reading men's rights sites I guess). I wonder about his basement and mom's paying for the broadband too.

I remember in college, there was a certain class of asshole that specialized in being a devil's advocate (a wonderfully good thing as they saw it),and encouraging stupid debates that always devolved into personal insult, at which point they somehow figured they had won. I hated them then, and now, they have such a megaphone.

It is a very sad thing about the democracy of the internet, that we have to put up with so much chaff from insane and failed persons. They can get in your face in a way that they just can't on the street panhandling or ranting. The only thing you can do is resolutely ignore them.

So let us not have any more arguments and discussions with the pointless and useless, and respond to their uselessness with silence.

Motherhood Worship

I hate to say it, but on this one, the men's rights guys have it nailed. Why no kids with their dads in the joint?

I can see it for nursing moms, and a baby can't tell a jail from a playpen (a baby jail that all my kids hated loudly and famously). But once a year or so old, there is no rational reason to put babies in jail. Other than motherhood worship.

Well I'd Hire LeCastor & her lawyer fu

In a minute, except that I doubt I could afford her.

Fighting our jackass jobless trolls to the last gasp, sounds like the kind of attack dog lawyer I'd want if was up against you dudes in as actual court. Sadly, that is pretty unlikely to happen.

In the meantime, LeCastor, do your lawerly best to screw over some evil-doers, and sleep well at niight. And really, don't waste your talents arguing against idiots, they don't ever go away, no matter what.

Anybody here believe in democracy and freedom?

Because if you do, you have to start with the idea that people in other countries and other cultures don't make their laws in recognition of Western internet discussion boards (do theirs influence your political decisions?). Nor, most of the time, do they care all that much about the Western ramifications of their local decisions, made for their own reasons.

Do you know what is one of the major rallying points for violent islamists? The Algerian election which they won fair and square and was over-ruled by the Western backed very nasty (torturing, disappearing, collective punishment etc.) military regime. Not that these were a nice bunch of guys by any means, they were pretty heavily into the 'one man one vote one time' way of thinking, and just as violent and nasty as the regime, but if democracy is not to be a joke, just perhaps all of your weighing in on the local politics and issues and meanings of another country ought to give a little pause. Guess what? They won't agree with you some of the time. Maybe even a lot of the time. On top of which they might just have some kind of point from time to time.

If you lose the arrogance that makes you think you have a vote in their affairs, you would realize that persuasion rather than attacks, insults, mocking, and slander might be a better way to convince people. Just sayin'

But this is a concept that many regular "enthusiastic" posters to BroadSheet seem to have trouble with, as they lurk down in their moms' basements and all.
