In the areas of consideration given, you aren't hiring joe/josephine lunchbucket, these are qualities of interest for white-collar/management jobs. Which means that the person doing the hiring is upper management. Being in that lofty position myself, and I hire a lot of people every year, any exec type hiring on the basis of relative ring finger length is pretty obviously an idiot, and aside from legal type considerations, is probably stupid enough to run their organization into the ground, and remove themselves from any kind of hiring process, ie Darwinism at work.
Dubious studies and research like this, which seem to be like candy for Tracy C-F, tend to rather over-aggrandize their impact. Let me assure you, most of us that do hirings and promotions, are just a little more canny than to slavishly follow each ephemeral psych study by some academic with little experience of the real working world.
There are no "Palestinians." They are all just a bunch of Arabs and could they please go home and stop bothering Israel? I mean really, what are 1.5 million of them doing pressed into a little enclave on Israel's border?
It is all Egypt's fault, and American liberals' too, to be sure, and of course the fault of those nasty Hamas people that for some reason seem to have some credibility where all the people that have been making deals with Israel for some unfathomable reason do not.
Look, get an American president that can sit down with Israel and make peace, that done I'm sure some Arab or other can be found that will sign on, and then everybody can go home and there will peace evermore. Nothing to see here, move along.
Now, let's gossip about something that matters, like Brittany Spears!
If they can get it work, they can also presumably get it to work on ovarian tubes, ie easily reversible tubals, and wouldn't that be nice too? Give both sexes real control of their bodies and reproductive choices.
Because the fact remains that all current birth control methods suck. The Pill messes with your libido and health, IUDs have serious complications for many women (and once you understand how they really work, can be kinda off-putting). Plan Bs and abortifacts (and abortions) are really not the way you want to go for ongoing family planning, and mechanical systems (diaphragms, cervical cups, condoms) are a pain in the ass, mood killers, and, in the case of condoms, can have a severe impact on the quality of sex (at least for this male type person anyway).
The only really effective & manageable solution is sterilization (which does nothing for STDs, but that is another issue), the reversibility of which is problematic at best. So yeah, if they can get this working for both sexes, hooray, but the idea has actually been kicking around for decades, with no particular success. The key isn't the groovy high-tech business of the remote control, it's making the damn things work at all.
Feminism has been "over" and out of style and completed and everything else for as long as I've been reading the press, I can remember similar stories in the 70s, young women apparently just shrugging it off (last time around I believe it was the Pill that killed it, right?). Hell, there were probably similar stories after women got the vote, when the next generation of women had forgotten all the heroines and battles and so forth.
But it keeps coming back, somehow, it seems we just can't quite kill the damn thing off. Wonder why.
There is always a chunk of society that says "Because there will always be a group of women out there somewhere who are willing to say: 'Whatever the problem is, it's all men's fault.'" (and I might add, vice versa)
These are people that actually haven't read and/or understood the Lysistrata (like 3000 years old, nothing about this is new no matter how many interesting studies appear). The problem women (and men) face is that we are indeed the same species, and the biggest problem, both for men's activists and feminists, is that almost all of us are at one time or another traitors to our gender. Most of the time in fact. LGBQT's (or whatever the current formulation is) may be the only purity you can find, and really, most of us really aren't part of that, much as some might wish to be.
Mother Nature is a Bitch, basically.
There can be loyalty in crime, in honour, in team sports, but there is very little when it comes to gender. Both sexes will very willingly dump and betray their same gender friends and family for a love interest, always have, always will. Eros is the most confounding god of all.
The really big up-hill fight feminism has always faced, is that women have to take up some kind of solidarity with each other, against their own husbands, fathers, sons, and even harder, deal with regular defections of their sisters to those connections. I think that the realization that the opposite situation is true is something that men's rights activists have not quite gotten to yet. Mostly, dudes, you shouldn't be attacking the wimmin, and trying to convince the boys. Good luck.
And by the way, the Lysistrata is also one of the goddamnedest funniest plays every written.
