The best summation of Yezidis (or Yazidis) which also mentions the killings is to be found in Wikipedia of course, which also has separate short articles on the stoning and the bus-shooting. There you will also find links to further sources if you are interested.
There was an awful lot of junk reporting on this one, and a great many contradictory accounts. The only facts that are undisputed are that a) she was killed in the attack, b) by a number (as low as 20 to as high as 2000) of men, c) for a matter involving a relationship with a non-Yezidi.
She may or may not have converted, she may or may not have been taking shelter with a Yezidi or a Muslim cleric, she may or may not have been lured away with promises of safety, she may or may not have been taken by surprise, she may or may not have been dragged from her or a cleric's or her boyfriend's house. Some of the perpetrators may or may not be in Iraqi or Kurdish government custody. The attackers on the bus may have been her family members taking revenge on her killers, or may have been her boyfriend's family members taking revenge, or may just have been randomn thugs, indeed the attack may have been purely conflict-based and have nothing to do with the stoning at all.
I have some familiarity with the region, and my best guess is that given the numbers, publicity, and public record, it was not the stereotypical honor killing, which tend to be kept as discrete and within the immediate family as possible. It was almost certainly religiously based (her body may or may not have been burnt and may or may not have been buried with a dog), given Yezidi practise.
And yes our trollish friends, Yezidi men have been killed for inappropriate loving too.
Yes you have every right to anonymity it is a foundation of free speech blah blah blah. And duh, picking a moniker is still maintaining anonymity.
But it would make life easier if all you anonymouses could all pick one, you know, anonymous1 or anonymous2, so we can better separate out the blowhard from the antifeminist from the guy thats just pissed because he can't get laid from the general-duty troll.
Yes, I Canuckistan Bob fully support the legalization of prostitution in the United States, although that has absolutely nothing at all to do with the question at hand. It's legal here in Canuckistan, though brothels aren't, nor any public communication for the purpose. I actually know what I am talking about being an inner-city social worker and all, and I am not a big fan of legalization, I just recognize that it is least bad choice, for STD control if nothing else.
Finally, it is absolutely true that Bush is spending more on HIV/AIDS in Africa than anyone else is, but one should also point out that he spending more cash on another humanitarian catastrophe than anybody else, namely Iraq. The point being that you really can't take credit for spending until you can show that it has done some good, or at a minimum that it isn't doing actual harm.
