[Read the article: The president's message: Be very afraid]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Bush reminds me of an old 'Peanuts' cartoon where Charlie Brown thinks that if he just grits his teeth and keeps believing then all will turn out alright in the end, only that was a comic, ours is a tragedy in slow motion.

Bush, Cheney and Rumsfield just can't seem to understand that their collective view of reality is skewed, misplaced and down right wrong. The terrorists haven't necessarily won but we have certainly lost; lost our way, lost our rights, lost our hopes and are losing our children to a world where the philosophy of might makes right and I've got my own, good luck getting yours.

[Read the article: Kerry cancels campaign appearances. Should Bush?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Listening to the BBC this morning, since I refuse to watch mainstream "news" outlets it seems to my surprise, that Kerry's foot in mouth disease got the best of him despite his best intentions. I understand what his point was but the 'media' is making a shit storm over something that isn't.

In my opinion, the war and all of its attendant troubles should be left to Bush & Co. to continue making a mess of until the bums get voted out of office in the Senate and House in 06 and then move forward to 08.

  • hammer on the hypocrisy

[Read the article: Kerry's words, Bush's war]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I can't figure out why the dems don't hammer on the fact that our troops are continuously under supplied with proper equipment (vests, armor, etc) and then the troops when they get to come home, if they are so lucky, only find that their benefits have been slashed thanks to the Republicans on the hill and in the White House.

What is so damn patriotic about sending people off to die for someone else's cause and gain and yet to stab them in the back upon their return(s)?

Why can't that fact be broached and that those who clamored for war have screwed the very young men and women who are doing their bidding?

  • Hillary the John McCain of the Democratic party

[Read the article: Kerry apologizes, Hillary attacks]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Apologies should go out to McCain for that comparison but any respect I had for him as a vet and POW went out the window the minute he traded his years in a 'box' the moment he caved in (repeatedly, I might say to Rove et al) to the recent votes on prisoner torture.

Hillary is just as shallow, evil and contemptible. Wait, more so because she has never done a single thing except be an evil little hack.

I wish we had a viable canidate running against her here in New York.

Would that be the scarlet A?

Don't judge, lest ye be judged, yeah right. When every little thing that comes out about any "liberal", from Hillary 'n Bill to the recent gaff of Kerry we get it shoved down our collective throats in our so called liberally biased media about how wrong and immoral and impure we, we who disagree with the fascistic leaning of those currently in power are.

Step a half inch to the right in the media and we get the insane rants of lunacy from Rush, Hannity, Coulter, O'Reilly et al and where are you with this don't judge crap. Trolling here? I should hope you are practicing your loving Christian wisdom on the "Right" blogs and media outlets. But somehow I sincerely doubt it.

We've had the great "uniter" do nothing but divide and conquer and under the most despicable cloud of übermann Rove utilizing such hypocrites as Haggard for nothing but political gain and power.

People like Haggard have helped lead and shape the current dialogue and lack there of, not by teaching Christian charity, love or compassion but the reverse.

Live by the sword, Die by the sword.

I hope that Haggard has a Scarlet H on his chest, not for 'homo' but for hypocrite.

“Hegel remarks somewhere that all great, world-historical facts and personages occur, as it were, twice. He has forgotten to add: the first time as tragedy, the second as farce.”

Or in this case tragic comedy
