the deaconblues falls into the common confusion of religious delusion
[Read the article: Romney and Huckabee's religious intolerance ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]talk about closed systems of thought, I fail to see where it was stated that 'relgion is ok as long as it does not express absolute claims'.
Religion is not subjective then pray tell show me how it is objective? Or how it is intended or more practiced as a system of 'truth claims which describe which describe the objective meaning and reality for its adherents' given the 'virgin birth', the resurrection, the assumption and the other various 'miracles' few have seen or witnessed.
While so many of the 'religious right's' adherents disavow the science of evolution a far more quantifiable theory, and if you don't believe it then please explain the rapid mutation and adaptation of viruses, or the evolution of viruses?
What is offensive is the backhanded way of attacking using the line of 'This columnist also assumes that tolerance equals full acceptance without criticism or debate...' and yet that is exactly what you are trying to do by your rather thin argument of invalidation.
What is at stake is the growing intolerance and tests of proper religious views held by people like yourself to acclaim higher office and the decay it creates in the greater whole of which this country was started and based in trying to avoid religious tyranny.
America, one in which one has the right to follow or not follow any religious belief, the one our forefathers intended is the one I will fight for and if you don't like it, leave it.

Does it matter?
[Read the article: FCC votes to allow further media consolidation]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I hate being cynical but the MSM has its head so far up its a** that the effect of this probably won't be noticeable.
The "news" as it were, whether its on the tube via cable (CNN, Fox, MSNBC,...) or mainstream Katy Couric type networks and the paper press (The NYT and the Washington Post) is so slanted to the talking head blather of the punditocracy and hollywood tabloid crap that I can't imagine a ripple.
Although I might stick my head out the window and scream "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore."

party affiliation
[Read the article: No Democrat wanted Joe Lieberman's endorsement]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It doesn't matter if Joe flips to the other side because we already have Reid, Feinstein, Pelosi, Schumer, Clinton, etc who do the White House bidding without protest.

If any of my senators (Chuck S and HRC) or my congressional reps support and pass telecom amnesty, I will also actively engage in getting rid of every last one of them.

and the ads
[Read the article: How Barack Obama swept to victory in Iowa]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]since I let my premium membership go because of certain trends I've seen on salon I find it ironic that interspersed in the "how barack...swept.." are ads for mike bloomberg.
for those with the premium status, I'll save you the trouble
mike bloomberg
visit the official mike bloomberg site
does this make it official now that iowa is over that mike is throwing his hat in the ring?
as a new yorker, even I'm sick of the new yorkers in the race, do we need a third?

[Read the article: Obama projected to win big in Georgia]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]racist much, I think you are projecting a bit there or are you a troll for HRC and trying to use fear to bring the white vote. Hypocrite.
