and then
[Read the article: Various items]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]after I sent my letter to Hillary my house phone, rarely used rang with no one at the other end but silence and then hang up. *69 returned a busy signal
Co-incidence but given every thing going to hell in this country and recent FISA update I can honestly say it spooks me.

ondelette
[Read the article: Various items]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I am just absolutely stunned by this. And the further reading of the bill makes me feel that they, the DC Beltway is girding up to stop all dissent as martial law is declared once we start bombing Iran.
I leave in NY and saw 9-11 first hand, not on TV but running home to my son who was 6 months old at the time. After today’s sad turn of events I honestly fear a larger and more ugly attack upon this city, from abroad or who knows what group. I'm not prone to paranoia or conspiracies normally but I now expect nothing but the worst.
I have family in Europe and can't help but consider moving there and joining them.
and then again there is the phone with no one at the other end, reminds me of the film "Das Leben der Anderen", now that we're becoming all too much like East Germany or the Soviet Union.

Gravel for president
[Read the article: Quote of the Day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If they are considering "amnesty" for the telecoms then perhaps Gravel could make "Amnesty for Debtors" his campaign slogan, hell I would be indebted to him.

shocking
[Read the article: Douglas Schoen and Hillary's slimy pollsters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I wish! This is all part of the continuing status quo. One part of me thinks this increasing rightward turn is all part of a greater strategy on Hillary's part to be more palatable to the so-called middle and right to erase the stink of being labeled "liberal'.
And her pollsters or enablers with their dirty money, tricks and slime if anything make her less desirable as Presidential let alone Senatorial fodder.
But then that is why I completely distrust her and others. I think it is of utmost importance to reclaim the White House and Constitution from the over-reaching right but is selling ones ideals, morals and convictions worth it? Can one turn back from that brink? Does the end justify the means?
Where are the Democrats who will stand on principle and not sell or pander to the pundits in the name of increased state security?

Re-All The Clintons Do
[Read the article: Douglas Schoen and Hillary's slimy pollsters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]is take money and roll over for the Republicans. Stop smoking the crack pipe W.E.S. and get real. You can foam at the mouth all you want but it still won't make Hillary's stench go away. And if you can't tolerate anyone criticizing her then go offline now and spare yourself the torment of many, including myself, telling you where you can shove your opinion if you dare deny mine.

RE: Jim Montague

[Read more letters about this article: Here]But if the dems roll over for GWB as willingly as they do now what makes you think they would take on Generalissimo Giuliani?

re-adam.mcgahan
[Read the article: Douglas Schoen and Hillary's slimy pollsters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Oh I got that but given recent Congressional actions of this summer I just have sincere doubts that even with a veto proof majority that they would be able to stomach it. How I would like to be wrong but yesterday’s resolution regarding Iran I think supports my cynicism.

re-Haven't you figured it out yet? It was Hillary all along.
[Read the article: Douglas Schoen and Hillary's slimy pollsters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Even more proof to dislike her then
WACO--NAFTA--Counter Terrorism Bill of 1995--China getting favor trade status- sorry but after Tiananmen Square I have a hard time stomaching that one.

re-Real change is usually a slow and peaceful process.
[Read the article: Douglas Schoen and Hillary's slimy pollsters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Yes because people are unwilling to stand for the status quo and are vocal, active and participatory for and towards change. Without idealism fueling the fire then it all stays the same old way and we need change not more of the same old s**t.

The Notorious W.E.S
[Read the article: Douglas Schoen and Hillary's slimy pollsters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Who chose the attorney general who made the decision and approved the final assault? The fish rots at the head. Perhaps Bill had nothing or little to do with WACO in details but it is far more complex than just blaming Koresh. Not to go off topic but what about the gun happy FBI and the ATF, sorry but it is systemic of who sits in office.
and as for saying my opinion matters not to you, well I can't say I'm surprised by someone who makes threats about not tolerating putting HIllary in her place. Grow up.

Uninformed Wacko
[Read the article: Douglas Schoen and Hillary's slimy pollsters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Not surprising when you open fire on a group of Apocalyptic Christians following a madman. Geez, part of the FBI even stated that the tactics used by the ATF were unnecessary and over the top.
But enough of the off topic spin,
Hillary still is not an option.

W.E.S.
[Read the article: Douglas Schoen and Hillary's slimy pollsters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Whatever. You'll go on prattling on and only making yourself hoarse, I could care less. You haven't given any substantial proof today to take you seriously in the least.
I'm done responding to you, there are bigger fish to fry. Hillary won't get my vote in the primary, I prefer Edwards and Obama and my interest in the latter had waned since he has avoided several key votes recently.

A new crop of better Democrats will come up
[Read the article: Douglas Schoen and Hillary's slimy pollsters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I beg to differ, we've had Republicans running the show since Reagan, save for the 8 under Clinton, oh wait he's a Rockefeller Republican and a further march towards the right in our political discourse has been the result. What makes you think in a few decades we'll have better 'talent' to choose from? None has stepped up to the plate as of yet in 37 years, some close but not nearly close enough.
We don't have two decades because in seven years we've watched our rights and our Constitution slowly be discarded and now even our Democratic Congress has jumped on the bandwagon.
Would like to believe, really I would but history so far seems to be leaning in the opposite direction and faster so.
