I have wished over and over that Salon would put the name of the letter writer at the top of the posting, instead of at the bottom, so it would be easier to skip the stupid. Or that there would be a greasemonkey widget like the one for 538.com that filters out the post of whoever you list. But thankfully, the malodorous one starts all his letters with My Dear *****. Makes it easier to eye-filter, that's for sure!
I'm not sure I understand why you can't wait for Mexico to become ungovernable. Does this give you or the US some advantage I'm aware of? I was thinking it would just cause misery to a lot of people, and therefore wouldn't be desirable. Is there some positive outcome I'm missing?
Oh, even better, it's not her own analysis that 5X EBITDA is too much. No, no, it's her daddy's rule!
8X EBITDA of course.
One of the one remaining groups that the Republicans can claim the majority of is stupid people. By suggesting that Ms. Sotomayer isn't bright and therefor not qualified, they're insulting one of their few remaining constituencies.
Your post was not interesting on the other thread you posted it on, and not worthy to be posted on every single story that mentions Sotomayor today and in the future.
Where's the obligatory cut and paste letter from son of loud bitching about her being Catholic?
"Duh-uh... yeah. And their ruling DID expose the city to one very big lawsuit. The one currently in the Supreme Court. Great logic on the part of New Haven."
Wow, that was a powerful ruling! I would have thought there would have to BE a lawsuit for a lower court, then a court of appeals to make a ruling. But no! This gal is something. She can just choose some facts from someplace, no lawsuit is required, and CAUSE one! Dang. Judges really are powerful.
Hey technical people,
There is a thing (I don't know the technical term-maybe it's add-on?) for Firefox that will filter out the trolls on the fivethirtyeight.com comment threads. I would love to use something similar for Salon. Does anyone know how to make one?
<<Proper obeisances to technical people.>>
I don't think it's true that they are indifferent to other groups. Hating others is not indifference, after all.
But nevertheless, the odds that a baby with Down Syndrome will be born to a 16 year old mother are 1/2014, while the odds that a baby with Down Syndrome will be born to a 44 year old mother are 1/38.
It's Sarah's baby.

WTH? What does I hope not mean? He doesn't know what he's planning, but he hopes he isn't planning to run for office?
Frickin' idiot.
Paramour sounds good to me...and foreign!
12%? 12%? That's insane, though. In our self-funded plan, next year we will pay 130 million in claims, with expenses of about 4 million-half of that is the pepm admin fee to our ASO, the rest is my office's eligibility administration (and we administer the eligibility for several other plans, like dental and vision, and self-administer our flex claims and COBRA).
12% is a LOT of money.
Dang. That was very good. I want to send you my member communications, emails, and papers I write for my classes to get that kind of ruthless commentary on the style and structure.
The article would have been a much tighter piece and felt much less rambling and unformed if the author had received similar feedback.
I work for a state government as an analyst. I can pretty much tell you how that "accounting" of costs came to someone like me. "Add up the hourly costs of everyone who touched this at any point during that time, for the entire time".
Analyst: Here it is. 1.5 million.
"What? That's not enough. Add their benefits in there too!"
Pretty much guaranteed.
I was camping for a week--did she reverse her resignation?
