applies to all makes

It may be a bit of a stretch to say this is going to save Detroit. The program applies to all makes so it possible Toyota or Hyundai or BMW will be making more money. But for sure it is helping out all of the dealers who have been hurting a lot over the decline in sales. But maybe we have been learning that we don't "need" all of those new cars we end up buying when we have perfectly fine, albeit a few years old, cars sitting in the driveway. Maybe the market was actually getting rid of the excess of dealers and new cars until demand was stimulated. Now the right-sizing is being halted, at least temporarily.

GOP

what difference does it really make though if PA ends up with DINO Specter or some one who actually has an "R" next to their name? Sestak will get my money. Just tell me where to send it!

re citizenship

Actually cwlosangeles the Constitution requires not just citizenship but that the President be a "natural born" citizen. That's why it is an issue to these crazy people.

Saipan

I jut saw a program on Current TV the other day about Saipan. All the factories have closed leaving a large number of unemployed Chinese migrants who were shipped in to work in the sweatshops. The island's economy has pretty much totally collapsed. I guess that's capitalism for you alright!

politics excluded??

Why are political calls still allowed? During election season they are the biggest abusers of my phone.

politics

OK, so political speech is protected, I get that. But why should I have to pay for their political speech? They can advertise on TV, radio, newspapers, direct mail, whatever all they want. I am not restricting their right to free speech but requesting they not use my phone to advertise to me. If they are calling my cellphone and I answer I am paying for that.

No political call is ever going to change my mind about any issue. Other than to make me less inclined to vote for the people who insist on incessantly calling me.

AG

I thought McDonnell resigned as Attorney General to focus on the campaign.

Deeds is not a good candidate. But the Democrats had pretty slim pickings this go around for some reason. The 1 term limit really limits the governorship in VA anyway.

not a big deal maybe

It is interesting to see the differences. Futura is modern in a retro way. I can see why it has its fans. I wonder exactly how one "owns" a font, charges for its use, and polices it.

Certainly there are real differences between the two.

I definitely have my preferences when it comes to fonts. For example the one Salon is making my type in right now isn't all that great.

meanwhile

meanwhile lesbian athletes are raped and murdered in South Africa and no one seems to so much as raise an eyebrow. For a country freed from apartheid they sure have some backwards views towards freedom.

Original article: It's time to forgive Serena

McEnroe

To say that McEnroe "always got off" is simply not true. He was penalized and defaulted many times during his career. And even he has said there is no way to excuse what Serena did. I used to really like her, but she seems to have absolutely no self awareness. Narcissist is certainly a fitting term. As others have noted she never loses because her opponent was good. It is because of some other sort of factor. She can't give anyone credit other than herself. She has become insufferable. I have not read her book, but I understand it is filled with more of the same.

Besides the profane threats about the tennis ball/throat there was her waving of the racket in the woman's face and her menacing approach.

makes sense

These fast transfer times are meaningless for most amateur shooters. So it makes sense to create these higher speed cards and high capacities for pro shooters. They are most likely to shoot things like sports or photojournalism requiring lots of burst shooting. They can also afford the high price tag if it is important to their business.

My Nikon D90 takes SD cards. It's nice to see there have also been some developments in that arena. High capacity SDHC with relatively fast transfer times keep getting cheaper and cheaper.

I guess that explains why my stock mutual funds have so much of their stock.

Wilder

I agree...Wilder is just a guy with a big ego who thinks he still has some relevance. I am not sure he does. Doug Wilder seems to only care about getting publicity for himself.

Original article: The bambino in winter

a December

As a December baby I think this is a load of crap. You can probably dig up all sorts of stats and data to show lots of things. When they say people like me are "more likley" to have all of these alleged negative outcomes, how much "more likely" are they talking about. 1%? 50%? .00001%?

I was the 3rd of three kids. My parents were certainly not "from a lower socioeconomic class".

And since when is shyness considered "undersirable"?

Original article: Fear of a drag planet

drapes

I am guess that the use of the word "drapes" was the author's choice for humor and not the word that is used in the actual policy.
