while Oprah may not ever have a chance to be president I don't think she's really interested in being president. In some ways she may be more powerful and clearly she's much more wealthy. She seems to have a power over women, especially, that is unmatched by anyone. I think it is no coincidence that she is on Obama's bandwagon.
In some ways I do feel sorry for Hillary. But her negatives (rightly or wrongly) have always been too high for her to end up being president. Thank goodness her inevitability has been replaced by his.
and nobody listens to him or watches his show other than other idiots in the Beltway circle who are his guests.
some one ought to ask Johnson what is so awful about being a community organizer that he can't bring himself to utter it instead of his reference to it as something he can't talk about.
The more HRC and her campaign open their mouths the more inclined I am to support Obama. I think Bill did a good job as president all things considered, but it is time for him to retire from politics.
so, is he saying that it's a good thing the skies are cloudy all day? And the trees thing is just downright bizarre. Maybe his circuit boards needs some reprogramming.
I think his accent thing might have been directed at Southerners or maybe people in Boston... Surely he can't mean Spanish accents since his whole campaign at this point is based on complaining about all of those brown people who are invading the good ol' US of A. And if no one there has an accent then the "illegals" must not be prevalent there.
I really wish he would get nominated so the Dems would be assured of winning.
I hope they played the tape for him, Russert-style.
Fred Thompson is a goner anyway. Why are they even bothering to talk to him? He's polling lower than Ron Paul.
I know Matthews is an easy target, but c'mon, like 6 people watch his show, and they are just the people he has on the show all the time. If we all just ignore him he will go away.
So Hillary's ad says she wants "an immediate freeze on... mortgages"? What does that mean, exactly? She wants banks to stop issuing any mortgages at all? Isn't that going to further kill the housing market?
How many people voted in the SC GOP primary? Was it more or less than the Dem primary? Haven't the rest of the early states seen much higher numbers of people voting in the D primary than the R? Doesn't that bode ill for the GOP? Is it possible SC could end up in the D column for the general election?
you can see the video feed of the speech on the Wash Post's website and see the crowd for yourself. The WP reports that the first bunch of people in line were AU students who are primarily white but as the line grew it became more racially diverse.
DC is a very diverse city as are the surrounding suburbs (one of my favorite things about living here), so I expect the crowd will reflect the breadth of diversity here. Lots and lots of white liberals here too whom I think are more inclined to support him than Hillary.
If Bill and Hillary were somehow able to argue that all of their corrupt contributors and friends didn't make them corrupt I don't see how they can tie this guy to Obama in order to tarnish him.
I would imagine that in exchange for his endorsement Rudy expects something in return. What do you suppose it is? Veep? AG? Ambassador to the Vatican?
even more puzzling than the jihad itself is the Great Right Wing Talk Radio endorsement of Mitt Romney! Here's a guy with absolutely no principles whatsoever, and yet he is being embraced by all of those lunatics. Are they forgetting all of his past support for abortion, gay rights, gun control, etc?
how can they hold a caucus in the middle of the day on a week day? Who is able to attend such a thing?
and that is why Obama is going to win. He's got an up-beat message and is looking to the future. You can deride that all you want but if the last 30 years have taught us nothing else, it is that people in this country vote for candidates they feel like they have a personal connection with. Obama has that, Hillary don't.
and how is providing pizza and a speech for college kids and getting them fired up about voting a bad thing? Seems like smart campaigning to me.
Maybe it's just because I read the Angry Asian Man blog on a regular basis, but I actually thought that Obama was the choice of a greater percentage of Asian-Americans.
I am not sure exactly what, if anything, this poll really means. How big was the sample? was it only South Asians polled?
Let's also remember that Hillary has had a number of big Asian fundraisers...and they have gotten her into some hot water.
My guess would be that rather than racial breakdown, that the differences between the two would be more along the age split that is present among all racial groups. Young people going for Obama and older folks going for Hillary. I wonder if there are also any numbers dealing with 1st generation vs 2nd generation or beyond voting preferences. As others have mentioned, Asian cultures tend to be fairly conservative.
