So why exactly?

is Salon still indulging the rants of HRC supporters?

HRC had pretty much every advantage going in and managed to blow it, and even if she HAD been the nominee I'd seriously have bet my house she'd lose to pretty much anyone the GOP had nominated.

Interesting read, made me hungry!

Have a hunch the vegans will not be loving this article though!

I know you reflexively want to blame the boys too

But sorryyyyy if the girls were intentionally trying to get preggers then that dog won't hunt...

Didn't one of them get knocked up by a homeless man?

Perhaps this is OT but as a man...

I can't help but wonder if these girls might have told the "fathers" that they were on BC, after all it's hardly uncommon.

If the "fathers" were willfully deceived into making babies the girls 100% intended all along to have then it really sucks for them and their folks to be stuck paying child support for 18-22 years.

But hey "life's not fair" I suppose...

Original article: Ask the pilot

This is probably the most un-pc comment I'll ever make on here...

But it is quite clear that many (not all) "minorities" employed by the TSA now have their dream job: they get decent salaries, government benefits and most importantly the opportunity to yell at and harass caucasian business travelers for hours at a time w/o any fear of repercussion.

I fly out of Atlanta and Newark frequently, a lot of these "officers" are complete thugs, the badges and the new signs Smith mentions are only going to make them worse.

Original article: Men (and women!) at work

The next time I see a woman working construction

will be the FIRST time despite living in Atlanta which is pretty much in a constant state of teardowns/rebuilding...but whatever! I hope the female construction worker I've never met will finally be able to sleep. :-p

I want to 2nd Bukka's comments...

Especially after watching "Charlie Wilson's War" on Saturday night Sunday's news was a real punch in the gut!

Original article: Not-so-bulging brides

Weddings should be banned...

They are the leading cause of divorce!

There's a cartoon I clipped for a friend from the New Yorker where a beaming bride is at the top of the stairs coming out of the church saying "Now I can eat!"

Token male here

I LOVE Batman but seeing last Friday was similar to watching "The Wire" or "Generation Kill", so chockful of stuff that it was almost overwhelming! That's kind of a compliment coming from me but I think my companions would have preferred a fluffier summer action movie.

No plans to see Mamma Mia in theaters but having seen the live show years ago it's quite enjoyable if you don't might the light plot and don't dislike ABBA's music.

poor Katie Couric (sarcasm definitely ENGAGED!)

From Emily Yoffe at slate.com:

"I find it unseemly for people like Couric and Clinton, who have been rewarded greatly for their talent, skill, and drive, to complain that sexism is the reason when they don't succeed at absolutely everything. (Couric is paid $15 million a year, a higher salary than her male counterparts.) Sure, she and Clinton have both gotten bashed—that's part of the territory of being a public figure. Couric's predecessor, Dan Rather, was widely mocked for wearing sweaters, for his corn-pone sayings, for his penchant for misadventure. Finally, he was kicked out of his anchor chair in a humiliating fashion. At least he couldn't complain all this happened because white guys can't catch a break. Does Couric believe that if she were a black man she'd be No. 1 in the ratings?"

I think the 3rd hand you see...

is a female who's not currently involved in the "fingercuffing"...regardless the thing is funny! :-D

I can tell you this is BAD news... :(

Not sure I exactly get the point

But I feel that way about a lot of art, especially performance art which this kinda was/is.

Women complain when they're stared at

Obviously these girls don't mind being stared at and are probably pulling 3x the tips baristas at Starbucks are - where's the problem?

Original article: Like a woman scorned

Double-standard at work per usual

Women would totally FREAK if guys were doing to their cheating GFs/wives. e.g. "he should be arrested!!!"

Dems, including Biden, have gone out of their way to be bipartisan and gracious

Somehow I don't expect the GOP will do any of that next week in Minneapolis.

Been posing this hypothetical for days

Not to mention if Michelle had just had a special needs child and BO was still running he'd be getting roasted for putting ambition ahead of family...

Here's what I'd pay for the priviledge personally...

$0.00...in my experiences sleeping with virgins was not fun, lots of pain and tears despite my best efforts to be gentle and slow. Heck if I was going to pay for some loving at the bunny ranch I'd pick "Isabella Soprano" ;-)

But if she wants to do this, whyyyyyyyy the heck not...I fully support her.

Monday, April 13, 2009 12:16 PM

Oh my goodness

This is soooo over the top I would almost think it was meant to be satirical. Sigh...

Wonder how many people who'll read this tripe wouldn't even be here w/o alcohol!

Oh and the well-documented "beer goggle" phenomenon also helps less attractive women get laid too... ;-)

Monday, April 13, 2009 01:11 PM

Ground yourself Hellacopter...

@ "it's funny how angry men get when they are forced to reckon with the realities of our patriarchy.

Answer a few questions for me. Do you ever think about your body image to please your mate? have you ever thought twice about walking (or running) alone after dark? or, have you ever been harassed by women, when doing so? have you ever been raped- sober or inebriated?"

Um actually I CAN answer YES to some of your questions, my fat/size obsessed ex-wife called me a fat pig when I was 5'11 and weighed a whopping 195, she used to buy me too-small pants because in her mind I should be able to fit into them.

And I've had drunk women try to force me to have sex more than once, including one who followed me into a BATHROOM at a wedding. The fact that I was able to keep it from happening doesn't meant I didn't feel violated.

Tuesday, April 14, 2009 03:24 PM

@ Svut

Again, I don't see you acknowledging that otherwise unattractive WOMEN get sex all the time that they wouldn't otherwise due to male intoxication...i.e. "beer googles" - I've certainly worn them a time or two in the past. ;-)

Not sure people realize that trying to continually broaden the definition of "rape" just makes society as a whole a bit more suspicious of the accusers...which is not a good thing.
