  • Can't help but wonder

[Read the article: Are men spoiled rotten?]

If the writer spent her 30s constantly rejecting guys for the slightest imperfection (think Seinfeld)? Because if so karma's a b----.

Every week I encounter mediocre (not particularly successful, educated, charming, or attractive) women who seem to think anything less than a guy would be a worthy candidate for "The Bachelor" would be beneath them...aka settling.

  • Disturbing!

    That is all! ;-)

  • Never ceases to amaze me...

Blatant hypocrisy...women are openly encouraged everyday in magazines, books and on TV to manipulate the men in their lives but god forbid a guy do the reverse...Heavens!

  • Hope it's just me :(

I can't see anything but page 1. And as a history junkie I am sad!

  • Billllllll :(

Love me some Bill Maher but he's off-base here...

  • Savoring every episode like a bottle of fine wine

Will there be anything truly worth watching once this season ends?

  • More votes than the #2 and #3 candidate combined?

I'm not a plant by Edwards/Obama but seriously folks, I wonder how anyone rational can't see that having Hillary as the Dem candidate would get out the GOP vote more effectively than handing out 100s at the polls. Not to mention that even if she wins there will be zero honeymoon period, the GOP will obstruct ANYTHING she tried to accomplish. Not saying it's rational but they hate the Clintons worse than the devil.

  • Great cameo for the season two dockyard survivors

Yup that was definitely them yelling and cursing about the port - now I'm watching the ep again, I find that you have to watch these at least twice to get everything.

  • I'm a guy and...

seeing my two little sisters (technically half sisters) be born when I was 11 and 15 was simply AMAZING.

  • Eastern's demise

I believe they got locked into a protracted strike situation with their mechanics in the mid to late 80s and it ended up destroying them.

Some of their vets now fly for Airtran. Who I would HATE to see merge with SW by the way.

  • Had an epiphany about McNulty last week

[Read the article: Hot off "The Wire"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Basically he's very similiar to the Al Pacino character in "Heat" who explains ruefully that "all I am is who I'm after" as his marriage is unraveling and his step daughter is suicidal.

Guys like this have to have a mission and anything else falls way down on their priority list. IF he actually takes down Marlo and magically gets away with all the stuff he's pulled it's not like he'll then make it up to Beadie (sp?) her two kids plus his own two kids. He'll be looking for the next dragon to slay and be more convinced than ever that he can out-clever everyone.

  • Wow this won't end well for ANYBODY

And really, isn't that reality? Best episode of season Five.

Very scary to think about ever accidentally getting in the way of a babyfaced sociopath like the one who took down Omar.

  • Per the last coop meet Omar now owes Kenard

250,000! But won't surprise me if the lil terror gets himself killed PDQ in the final two eps.

  • Carcetti, Rawls and Daniels

[Read the article: Hot off "The Wire"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

All look like total fools if this thing comes to light. Don't think for a minute that Carcetti and Rawls won't want to keep it quiet - not sure if Daniels will fall on his sword - the real punishment for Freamon and McNulty would not be termination but to stay on the force and work the evidence room and/or be exiled to the Marine/harbor unit.

Greggs may find that "no good deed goes unpunished" if she's not willing to play ball about this. Same for Gus at the Sun.

Meanwhile, as Clay Davis knows, lawyers like Levy make $$ regardless.

  • Following up on my own post from earlier

[Read the article: Hot off "The Wire"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

If, and it's a BIG if, they can get this takedown of the Stansfield crew to stick it plays very well for Carcetti in terms of political aspirations - he can say when attacked on not delivering the 10+% dip in violent crime: "we didn't try to do meaningless arrests just to get good stats, I had my people concentrating on major players, etc."

Thought about this episode more as I drove to work this morning. Basically in Simon's Baltimore you see that a lot of people, i.e. Levy, Davis make tons of money on things being the way they are: whenever that is the case those people obviously have a vested interest in things remaining just as they are, regardless of the misery it causes...kind of like Blackwater and Halliburton in Iraq.

Certainly not outside the realm of possibility that Levy wanted Herc to give Marlo's new phone number to the cops?

  • Sorry but it's simple

[Read the article: It ain't over yet]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Clinton WILL LOSE the general election - every McCain hating Republican who would otherwise stay home would come out to vote for the devil himself over her. And even if she somehow slipped in they will fight fight fight ANYTHING she proposes before she even takes office.

Doing another primary in Fla? Well gee Dems, can you play just a bit harder into the hands of the GOP?

Starting to wonder if she wants to wound Obama to the point that McCain will win so she can go for it again in 2012.

As Bill Maher has been saying "Only the Democrats can find a way to lose the election this year..." :-(

  • When the Supreme Court is packed with Alito/Thomas types 3 years from now

[Read the article: Should Florida and Michigan vote again? ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

We'll have Clinton supporters to thank for providing the GOP the opportunity to win the presidency in a year they had no business doing so.

  • Couple of random thoughts

[Read the article: Hot off "The Wire"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

When Levy was talking to Herc I was expecting, for a moment, a GodFather II like scene where Levy would say "I know it was YOU, you're dead to me now!" Instead his affection seemed genuine...found that perplexing.

If Marlo tries to even run one corner I would suspect the remaining guys in the CoOp will take him out PDQ lest he get allusions of grandeur. Either them or some random young sociopath like the one who shot Omar.

Also the CoOp's not going to tolerate a would-be Omar robbing them, they'll do whatever it takes to kill Michael ASAP. Regardless of his actions he's still just a 15 year old boy, not nearly as wily as Omar was in his prime.

  • A lot of people simply don't realize

the fact that we CAN, as humans, do certain things in no way makes them morally right.
