Where is Salon's reporting on the fact that, despite the media hubbub over Clinton's weak showing, Barack Obama improved his numbers in PA in all the demographics he is purportedly having trouble with, i.e. whites, women, blue-collar workers? Salon used to be the kind of news outlets that would tell you what the other news outlets wasn't telling you. Now, y'all are just a bunch of haters.
Obama can't "close the deal" because some people just aren't cool enough to be part of his campaign and because (of the very tired notion that) all he does is give flowery speeches? Clinton, on the other hand, is behind because of several legitimate reasons?
Hmmm, sounds to me like she's legitimately fucked!
Clinton is failing because she doesn't have a message. Admittedly, Obama's message of unity, changing government, changing the mindset that gets us into quagmires like Iraq may be wearing thin after almost a year of campaigning but it is a message nonetheless and one that continues to resonate with millions of people, many who have yet to hear it.
Clinton, on the other hand, does not have a message, a rationale, something that will grab people in the gut and tell them all they need to know about why she is running. Her only rationale for running is that she is a woman! And no amount of specifics on issues can conceal the fact that she possesses no personal charm or character, has no unifying message, will deliver nothing we haven't seen before.
It is Clinton who is the robot and not Obama's supporters.
This is why she will lose so marvelously to McCain in a general election and why so many Republicans would rather run against her. She may pillory McCain with facts and arguments as Gore did with Bush but, just like Gore, she will also lose to him.
Republicans know that the American people are skeptical about information and facts because situations change and changing situations demand new facts, new specifics. The Clintons, the administration of compromise, know this better than anyone. Facts, at this stage of the game, conceal as much as they reveal.
Hillary tries to make up for her lack of personality with facts and specifics but the American people won't bite. Americans want to know "Can you speak to my gut because I don't have the time to parse YOUR facts."
The American people vote with their heart and gut and not with their heads. Clinton is all head and no heart. That is why she will lose so ginormously because, if she wins the nomination, unlike Gore she will not even have the Democratic base to lean on.

Similarly, why hasn't the media given the same attention to the Bush family's connections with the bin Ladens and Saudi Arabia?
Think about it people! This is just another right-wing scare tactic and people like Proudtekhasgirl are mouthing their insipid and insulting tactics when she posts letters using Obama's middle name as an epithet. To hell with them all!

This is about being fed-up with the media, including Salon, who suck the dicks of corporate interests and give a pass to the Bush administration for lieing us into an unnecessary war and then hound Obama about his pastor, a man who is by any standard an upright American citizen. I mean for God's sake, Ron Paul ran for president and he had virtually the same message. Noam Chomsky is a Jew, a professor at MIT, an American dissident, and in my book a patriot. He has said much worse than Jeremiah Wright and it's all true to one extent or another.
I'm not black. I'm a caucasian immigrant to this country and I've lived here since I was 8 years old. I'm sick and tired of the media playing dumb and playing down to the American people. I'm a fucking American too and I can't stomach all the shit that goes on and the media just overlooks it all like it's fucking okay that we killed 500,000 Iraqis for no fucking reason whatsoever but to rape the American taxpayer.
So wake the fuck up, please!

[Read more letters about this article: Here]If only more Americans could read such eminently sensible comments and give them fair consideration. I have always thought that there are really just two reasons why Americans tacitly support Israel:
1) They have no idea that Israel unjustly continues to steal land from the Palestinians, bull-dozing homes and building walls deep into Palestinian lands.
2) They are Islamophobes who assume that Palestinians, because they are Muslims, are on the wrong side of the issue.
If only the American people knew the facts of the situation they would not allow their government to give such unquestioned, biased, and ill-considered support for Israel.
The media is complicit as well.
