Et tu, Brute?
[Read the article: Don't blame San Francisco for Obama's "Bittergate"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I have never in my life witnessed anything more cynical and subversive than the Clinton campaign's attemp to brand Obama an elitist, "foreign" and unelectable.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Working class voters will see through it. Obama is an intellectual, not an elitist. There is a world of difference between these two things.
Furthermore, he has more sensitivity and compassin in his right pinky than Clinton has in her whole calculating and opportunistic body. People also see that pretty damn clearly.
These same liberals are fearful of the Republican attack machine, probably because they have been traumatized by it. They believe Obama to be unelectable for a whole host of reasons, most of which have nothing to do with reality. The reality being that he has won election after election with huge voter turnouts after so many have said all along he couldn't do it. But, he did do it and he is DOING IT!
And why is it that a majority of Republicans would prefer to run against Hillary Clinton? How do these same liberals explain this? Is it some kind of reverse psychology scheme? Give me a freakin' break.
Your explanations and reasons for Clinton and against Obama all amount to hogwash. I call bullshit on all of you.
Obama is the most charismatic, dynamic Democratic leader we've had in decades and Republicans know it. They know that once working class voters see him standing next to McCain and compare their messages, there will only be a snow ball's chance in hell that they can win in November.
So Clinton supporters: GET OVER YOURSELVES! Your candidate is losing and will lose. Take a deep breath and join us or get the hell out of the way.
Is that smug enough for you! My smugness comes from your eagerness to twist the truth in your candidate's favor. I expect as much from Repubicans but not you. As for the Republicans: I ain't afraid of no Repubican. Bring it on!

First Impressions
[Read the article: Clinton pollster urges senator to go relentlessly negative]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The problem with the attacks coming from Clinton now vs. the attacks that will come from Republicans later is that most of the country does not know Obama. Therefore, Obama has the displeasure of having his opponent introduce him to America in a most displeasing light. It will be hard for Obama to overcome these first impressions, especially once they are echoed by McCain. Once something is said often enough people start to believe it, even if it's catergorically false. Clinton is the real Judas here, a Judas to her party!

"Yes, yes, yes."
[Read the article: The "distractions" debate]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]After throwing everything the Republicans might think up at Obama, Clinton says "yes, yes, yes" he is qualified to be president and I will support his nomination if he wins.
I'd say Obama had a pretty good night. Clinton, on the other hand, by hedging, calculating and maneuvering has boxed herself into a corner. No longer can she make the argument to super delegates that he is unelectable (not that her own public words will stop her from trying to do so behind the scenes).
Obama will win the nomination and thanks to Hillary, the public will have heard all the crap there is to know about him. Therefore, if McCain tries to use these attacks against him later, America will collectively roll its eyes and move on.

Clinton said "I will...recognize reality and end the war responsibly."
[Read the article: What will they really do about Iraq?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Responsibly? In PA's debate she said said she would withdraw troops regardless of the situation on the ground. That doesn't sound very responsible to me. Which is it Senator Clinton? Answer: It's whatever I think the voters want to hear, whatever it takes to get elected.
The only straight shooter on Iraq is McCain and his ideas are dead wrong and will only escalate tensions in the region to probably include a war with Iran (whether outright or by proxy). That leaves Obama as the only reasonable choice on this issue.

"O most pernicious woman! O villain, villain, smiling, damned villain!"
[Read the article: Obama and Clinton fizzle in Philly]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]In response to a question about whether she thought Barack Obama is qualified to be president Hillary Clinton answered: "Yes, yes, yes." As if, she couldn't believe what she was saying. I couldn't believe it either given that she has said before that only she and John McCain are qualified.
Furthermore, Clinton boxed herself into a corner by pledging to withdraw troops from Iraq "regardless of the situation on the ground." This after she earlier claimed that she would draw down "responsibly."
Lastly, if you're making $250,000 a year you are no where near middle class as far as I'm concerned. Clinton's unequivocal pledge not to raise taxes on people making less than $250,000 a year is an outright lie. She knows it will be impossible to fix healthcare, address global warming, insure social security, etc. and not raise taxes on 95% of Americans (only 6% of Americans make more than $100,000 a year).
By contrast, Obama's pledge not to raise taxes on those making $75,000 or less is far more reasonable and, dare I say, honest. His plan to draw down troops in Iraq over a 16 month period under the advisement of his generals is also more realistic and practical.
In short, Clinton is a liar. She will say or do anything to win. And this whole argument that she is tough is a load of bull. If Obama weren't tough there is no chance he would have made it this far. Clinton's claim to toughness is really a claim to being dirty and unscrupulous. I'd rather have tough and honest than tough and dirty.
