Simplistic!
[Read the article: It's OK to vote for Obama because he's black]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]No doubt being black helps Obama. But, one can make the argument that it's equally important that he's white, or being young he represents a new generation, or that his message is on point and exactly what the country craves at this time in its history.
Therefore, statements like "Without [blackness] he would not have a snowball's chance in hell of being elected president," are overly simplistic and even irresponsible. Despite peppering your article with apologies and disclaimers, your message serves ultimately to devalue the man in just the ways the Clinton campaign and the Republicans would like to.

You could also argue that...
[Read the article: It's OK to vote for Obama because he's black]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Being black hurts him as much it helps him, just as posessing a Muslim heritage is a liability as much as it is a strength.
That is what makes the man and his candidacy remarkable. It is not just being black but being black and white, Muslim and Christian, a native and an outsider. In this way, he represents the future of America.

Russia
[Read the article: No Hail Mary for Hillary]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Tim Russert's question about the next Russian president was an excellent one. I thought both candidates flubbed it. Clinton's response may have been adequate had she not mutilated Medvedev's name. Then, when Russert corrected her, she responded with, "Whatever!" I thought that was highly unpresidential. The poor women is fighting tooth and nail but coming undone a bit in the process. Obama did better to dodge the question all together. In both cases, their ignorance of the issue is somewhat alarming. What's worse, the American people can't hold them to account because we're even more clueless. It goes to show that all the bickering and back and forth on frivolous issues is at the expense of the real ones. The media ought to be making up for the people's ignorance and getting their backs but they're too busy trying to get ratings, making the problem even worse.

Am I missing something?
[Read the article: Are Barack Obama and John McCain hypocrites?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The Democratic and Republican National Conventions are only about a week apart in late August and early September. $85 million would mean each candidate would have about $42 million a month to spend on campaigning before the November elections. That's $10 million more than Obama raised this past January. I don't see what the big deal is. It's not worth it for Obama to risk tarnishing his reputation on this issue. He should accept public financing, hand over his donors list to a trustworthy 527 and call it a day.

Uh...
[Read the article: Are Barack Obama and John McCain hypocrites?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Public financing only takes effect after the National Conventions in late August and early September. Obama has until then to decide what he will do. In the meantime, he has broken no promises. So, stop your bitchin' people!

Safe?
[Read the article: Hillary at twilight]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]First it was a guy falling unconscious out of an airplane and now a phone ringing in the middle of the night and children sleeping soundly in their beds. The implication being that the guy falling out of the airplane is going to have his brains splattered onto concrete and the little children are going to get blown into a million bits--unless you elect Hillary president. Isn't this how the Bush administration sold Congress and the American people on invading Iraq? Clinton, who admits that she regrets her decision to authorize the war, is now using the same tactics to scare up votes. Shame on you Hillary!
Hillary doesn't care about you people. She only cares about herself. That's why she didn't stand up to Bush in the first place and that's why she has taken a page out of his play book now. She only cares about winning and she's pissed as hell she may not. Get it!

Obama to Bill Cunningham--Say my name BITCH!!
[Read the article: Obama should be proud to be named Hussein]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I agree. Obama needs to own his middle name. I have yet to hear him say it, not once. Anyone who has ever had his name made fun of by likes of shit heads like Cunningham would immediately empathize.

To fear or not to fear
[Read the article: Obama hits back at Clinton ad]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Of course Clinton's ad is about fear. Proof--she ran one with the same theme a few weeks back--an unconcious person falling out of an airplane until, presumably, Hillary is elected and the parachute opens. Tell me that is not fear baiting, fear-mongering, fear exploiting, whatever you want to call it.
This is how the Bush administration took us to war in Iraq, by exploiting our fears. Clinton regrets her Iraq war vote but doesn't see anything wrong with using the same tactics to strong arm votes? Tell me there isn't something terribly wrong with Clinton taking a page out of the shameful political history of the Bush administration?

'Bitch is the new black!'
[Read the article: No Texas-size victory for Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The March 4 Democratic primary elections were decided by two things: Saturday Night Live and the subsequent bad press Obama received as a result, including the NAFTA debacle.
This goes to show how fickle voters are. A couple of bad days on the news cycle and Obama lost virtually all the momentum he had built up in the previous 11 states.
Note to America: If you're really undecided 2 days before an election, do us all a favor and don't fucking vote!!!
Clinton will no doubt fight on even though she's only strenthening McCain's position with her attack adds. Mark my words, if Obama gets the nomination only to lose to McCain in the general, Hillary Clinton will be to blame. If she thinks people are villifying her now--you just wait.
