Original article: "Cassandra's Dream"

Only Woody Allen can make a Woody film

The only Woody Allen films that are really great are the ones in which he stars, except Sweet and Low Down (which he is in briefly).

Whatever helps you sleep at night, Kate

You can say what you want, but the truth is that there IS a. . . how did you put it?. . ."supremely qualified woman" running for president right now and you are choosing to support someone else with far less experience. And you are an absolute turncoat for describing the choice between the two as follows: "supporting someone who I know would be very good, Hillary Clinton, or supporting someone who I know could be truly great." So it's "would be" versus "could be" with you. For my part, I am voting on a sure thing. . .not a "could be."

Oh, and I know that Hillary "would be" truly great!

God, you make me sick to my stomach!

And what about Oprah??!!!!!

I suppose it is perfectly okay for influential celebrities with televisions shows, such as Oprah, to be openly in support of Obama. But, it is a SIN for any show to do anything that may seem supportive of Hillary Clinton! Hypocrites!

This is just like Bush all over again. Except one is accused of being racist rather than unpatriotic for daring to criticize the Lord, Our God, Obama?!

What about Rev Wright? Shouldn't HE apologize, too?

If you search YouTube for "Reverend Wright and Obama", you will come across video feed of a man saying hateful things about America and very awful things about Hillary. His sermons, to put it mildly, are divisive. Yet, Obama has never distanced himslef from Rev Wright, as Hillary was forced to do with Ferraro. He has brushed it off as "he is like an uncle who says things I disagree with" rhetoric.

Why are there different standards in this campaign for each candidate?

Xrandadu

Xrandadu Hutman: "SNL, on the other hand, de-facto endorsed Clinton while knocking Obama as a buffoon, giving her a very solid media boost with her appearance, and timing all of it for maximum effect just before a big election."

And I suppose, Oprah running around on the campaign trail with Obama right before the Iowa Caucus was just a low key activity that it didn't give him a boost at all?!

Oh, and by the way, Obama wasn't knocked on SNL in the "baffoon" manner of which you speak. On the contrary, those skits were more of a mockery of the media for giving him a free ride. Obama merely did what anyone in his position (including Hillary) would do, he took advantage of it as much as possible.

We do it to ourselves, too!

I am always saddened when I notice women engaging in sexist behavior, too. When I first started working in my current job, I was told matter of factly by another woman on my staff that one of the upper level managers only received her position because she had an affair with the big boss. This woman (the manager) is somewhat attractive and has a very engaging personality. I guess that is why I made little attempt to doubt the story at first. Last year, I had the opportunity to work with her first-hand on a team of about 12 people from various staffs. She served as our project manager. She was probably the best project manager I have worked with since starting my job. Everyone on the team respected her immensely. I also seriously doubted she slept with anyone to get that position. She is way too intelligent to have not realized she was the best person for that position with or without the "bedroom interview."

I was so ashamed at myself for not questioning the foundation of that rumor when it was first told to me, and everyone on my staff now knows I will not tolerate that sort of gossip anymore. I told that coworker who repeated the rumor to me, "You should tell whoever is feeding you this gossip that they should give you proof; otherwise, I think spreading malicious gossip could lead to a sexual harassment claim being brought against that person." She has never broached the subject with me again.

The thing is. . . I think if a man had told me that story about her, I would have thought him sexist right away!

Nancy Pelosi?!!!!

Nancy Pelosi is not "self-made". She had a very famous political father, and, as such, had his political connections when she started out.

o

"According to the wikipedia, she is the highest ranking women in the history of the US government."

Yoou had to go to Wikipedia to find that out? Your basic American governmentclass in high school would have told you that the Speaker of the House is third in line in the order of Presidential succession.

Obama, the backstabber

In an attempt to defend his pastor, he actually accused his own grandmother of making racist remarks. A woman, who in the same speech he makes this accusation, he claims sacrificed again and again for him. When he wanted to come up with an example of racism within his own family, who chose the one person who held him nearest to her heart.

This is his character.

dataguyx and manos,

Clearly, I don't have to figure out what YOUR character is. . . It is obvious that you are the type of people who resort to venomous name calling in the absence of a substantive rebuttal.

Predictable people never disappoint

dataguyx: "Huh

"Clearly, I don't have to figure out what YOUR character is. . . It is obvious that you are the type of people who resort to venomous name calling in the absence of a substantive rebuttal."

Well, where I live, you don't "rebute" shit. you just wipe it up.

Consider yourself wiped."

THANKS for proving my point!
