  • Uniforms are in the eye of the beholder I guess

[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

because those throwback Washington uniforms look incredibly ugly to me.

You can call uniforms like the Rams' blue and gold bland all you want, they look a ton better the old-time striped sock look.

  • Worlds apart

[Read the article: Once and for all, proof that Macs are cheaper than PCs]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I'm not sure I've ever read a computer column so utterly and completely divorced from the reality I inhabit.

The single most significant reason for almost everyone I know not to buy a Mac is not the price but that the software we need to use, and most especially the games we want to play, are not available for the Mac.

I don't know anyone who has ever resold a computer, we upgrade them component by component (something that, although this could have changed, never used to be an option with Macs) until we hit a plateau point where a new system is needed, at which point the old system is generally repurposed.

  • A commitment, Senator?

[Read the article: Where have all the line technicians gone?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Whatever Sessions may think of younger generations, they're not stupid enough to have failed to notice over the last couple of decades that the entire concept of a "permanent career" has been thrown under the wheels of progress by the bosses, who view employees as an asset only when they can free up some cash by getting rid of some.

If the honorable gentleman would like to see workers willing to make a commitment to a job, perhaps he should look into getting the job to make a commitment to the workers.

  • Punchline next week?

[Read the article: Kansas O'Flaherty...Secret Agent]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I can only assume that something so relentlessly terrible must be the setup for some kind of punchline.

  • I don't care about the GSA

[Read the article: To serve Allah and my country ...]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

If it helps pry girls out from under the crushing anvil of conservative religious beliefs then I'm all for it.

  • This was my college utopia

[Read the article: Study: College girls boozier and sluttier than ever]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I can't get pregnant of course, but I was free to indulge in all the self-destructive behavior I cared to, and I cared to indulge a great deal, as did most of my friends; so, why should it be any different for girls than for guys, exactly?

Gee, come to think of it, I can't recall any real gender disparity in our boozing and using when I was in college; why, it's almost like this entire "study" is baseless...

  • It's not disrespect

[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The Patriots' accomplishments speak for themselves, and no one doubts their abilities.

We just don't like them for draining all of the joy out of the game by being petulant and bitter in their success.

  • I've heard this song before

[Read the article: Dead party walking]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

In 2000 we were saying that there was no way this inarticulate buffoon could defeat the sitting vice-president.

In 2004 it was even less believable that an absolute disaster of a president could possible be reelected.

Don't think for a second that any of the Republican candidates couldn't win a general election; it isn't just the media, it isn't just the politicians, to a very large extent the problem with America is Americans.

  • re: deweyja

[Read the article: Krugman accuses Obama of "unscrupulous demagoguery"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Krugman himself has said the same thing, as recently as yesterday:

"Um, whatever criticisms progressives might have, Clinton and Obama are far closer to each other on every issue than either is to any Republican. (I’ve never suggested otherwise.)Once the nominations are settled, any progressive ought to work enthusiastically for any Democrat..."

  • It's fine in theory...

[Read the article: How does a single father ever get laid?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

An article about trying to have sex as a single father is fine in theory, but this is a collection of only tenuously-connected anecdotes that don't really go anywhere.

  • I need recycling not reuse

[Read the article: How much millet can a cellphone buy?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I realize people like me are in the minority, but I don't get a new phone unless the old one is no longer usable, so donating my old ones isn't an option.

  • My periodic reminder

[Read the article: The best-laid plans]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Every time I get a healthy dose of Glenn Greenwald and "How the World Works" and start considering subscribing to Salon again they publish something by Camille Paglia, or a piece of poorly written, substance-free fluff like this, and I am reminded why I don't.

Our perky protagonist, stunned into immobility at the suggestion that perhaps a one-night stand isn't obligatory..."Tontstant Weader fwowed up."

  • The perennial quote

[Read the article: News flash: Straight men like boobs!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"Nature gave men two heads, but only enough blood to run one at a time."

  • As an unlaid male...

[Read the article: U still up?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

...the only thing that would make me bitter is that the subhead was deceptive in that the article did not, in fact, reveal an "insanely easy" way for me to cease being an unlaid male.

Which to me is as good an indication as any that the central premise of the article, attributing a set of behavior to a newly available technology, needs further consideration as to whether the availability of portable, asynchronous communication is a significant contributor to the behavior.

  • Goals

[Read the article: "Show me your genitals"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Why the fuck should it be the goal of women to generate good feelings for all concerned when they didn't want to be concerned in the first place?

I don't "get in the game" with random women in the street because it's entirely possible they don't feel like playing right that minute.

  • The counterrevolution is over?

[Read the article: Relax, liberals. You've already won]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    The wars drag on.

    The gulags are still there.

    People are still being tortured.

Our civil liberties continue to erode.

  • Scary

[Read the article: NYT circulates fear-mongering claims on FISA debate]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Good thing the counterrevolution is over and the liberals have already won, or I might really be worried.

  • That's nothing

[Read the article: From shortcake to tart]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Although American Greetings made them take it down, Penny Arcade is way ahead of ya:
