Two More Juxtapositions in Time, aka Bush And His Handlers
[Read the article: Honey, I read "The Stranger"!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Has anyone noticed how unsophisticated Rove is getting. He has just 'produced two more shallow 'events' that we are not supposed to notice because he thinks they are so subtle that they will pass under our radar.
1. They let it be known that Bush read Camus. At the same time Joe Scarborough has a discussion on his program that purports to prove that dubya isn't dumb/ignorant/shallow by agreeing that he(Bush) just has an expression problem.
They were correct Bush does have an expression problem, it's called shallow thinking and constant lying. But then thats a Republican/Rovian thing anyway so Scarborough is just speaking to the Republican choir.
2. Has anyone noticed that Bush's juvenile mechanical and highly limited hand gestures are now being copied and used by others in the Republican and WH choirs namely and among others Tony Snow himself.
It's interesting to watch these clowns go through their acts and jump through their hoops designed by Rove, don't they ever get to feeling stupid and inane. Maybe it's just their Republican southern genes that keep them playing these mentally and behaviorally incestuous games. Aka, it's just one red neck talking to another over and over and over again. Aka, endless variations on the same themes.
Red neckism is rampant in the WH and in the Republican party.
Another stop gap bit of damage control, Bush is death on environmental, ecosystem and global warming issues so he signs a bill protecting some fishing areas near Hawaii. Well thats fine but what about all the rest of the eco-disasters he is allowing.
These guys are really worried about the 2006 elections. That should be a lesson for the voters about how much power their vote really has because the Repubs are really worried.
Then Bush signs an order that only family members have control over politicians papers.
Next he is signing something that will protect the entire Bush crime family from prosecution should the Dems ever get any power in government. So Bush&Co. and the generals who have lied about the entire Iraq thing can never be investigated or punished.
So much for the rule of law. So much for justice in America. This country is systematically and rapidly being destroyed. Rovian creeping destruction will soon end our Constitution and Bill of Rights.
And we have two more years of these creeps. Just think of how much more damage they can do in that period of time. The Repubs have wiped out almost 50yrs of social progress in America in only six yrs.

Unilateralism, A Sure Path To Failure
[Read the article: Israel's debacle, courtesy of Bush]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Sidney,
Thanks another great article.
Well now the Israeli's know what we here in America know namely, that Bush, Cheney, Rice and the nazi-fascist neocons live in a fantasy world. They decide what it is they WISH FOR and then bend, warp and torture the facts to convince themselves that what they want is do-able, and finally they lie to everyone to SELL us their bunch of lies and fantasies. A bunch of bullshit which our troops have to die for and we taxpayers have to pay for, not to mention the terrible suffering of the Iraqi's and Afghanis'.
Now the Israeli's know that they must above all else make their own decisions and NOT, NOT, NOT allow Bush, Cheney and the neocons to use them (the Israeli's) to further their(Bush, Cheney and the neocons) goals. (whew that was a rough sentence)
Now the Israeli's know that Cebrowski and net-centric warfare is largely a failure. It only has value in the initial phases of a war after that 'boots on the ground' are an absolute necessity. Remember when Rumsfeld spoke with great pride about his vaunted 'shock and awe' warfare instead of listening to Gen. Shinseki and the other generals who told him otherwise. What in the hell does Rumsfeld know about anything especially military strategy.
Eric Shinseki for president or at least Sec. Def. with Wesley Clark as president. Let the military do what it does best and keep the damn Republican civilian chickenhawks from setting war strategy, after all they are almost total failures at policy strategy.
Maybe now America and Israel will begin to understand that the real bottom line is that war is no longer useful and very much out of date when trying to solve world problems.
Once we get the arrogance and stupidity of John Bolton, George Bush, Cheney, Rice, the neocons and the damn Republicans and the crazy fundamentalist American religions out of our government and re-install our 'system of checks and balances' we can steer a straighter and more productive course toward solving the world's problems.
No matter what that jerk Bolton says about the UN, collective mutual bargaining is whats necessary.
Unilateralism is a sure path to failure in a multilateral world.

More Republican Idiocy
[Read the article: And keep a close eye on those Macacans, too]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Dear Mr. King,
Racial profiling sounds like something the nazis did during WWII to the jews.
My grandparents, now long dead, from central Italy were dark skinned enough that with your idea would not have passed through a racial profiling system. If my 90 yr old father grew a moustache he would be pulled out of line under your scheme. Instead he served throughout WWII as a merchant seaman on Liberty ships carrying holds and decks loaded with fuel, av gas, oil, bombs, munitions, trucks, planes in crates and tanks for our troops all of which was regarded as among the most hazardous duty of that war.
If I recall correctly the 'life' of a Liberty ship was considered to be 21 days, yes you read that correctly, 21 days.
Mr. King my dad was dodging nazi torpedoes and saving your ass.
