I will not debate you on the science of global warming. One, I am not qualified to do so, and two, even the world's experts cannot prove it at this time.

But what I can do is think. I see the legislation being proposed - legislation that has little or nothing to do with the world's biggest polluters, and much to do with the average citizen, whose greatest "global warming" crime is commuting to work. Those fucking auto companies haven't improved their gas mileage in 30 fucking years, but I have to pay additional taxes because I can't afford a God-damned Prius. Look who benefits. Look who loses. Look at what changes are proposed, and who is most affected.

You say my progeny will be extinct, due to my denial of Global Warming? No, they will be free. Because they will be taught how to think. If they are told the world is round, they will conduct scientific experiments to prove it to themselves. If they are told that Aristotle said such-and-such, they will read the original Greek and decide for themselves. They will grow their own food, and well their own water. They will know how to live without depending on their government - and this will piss their government off very much.

Knowledge is being replaced by information. The digital age is the beginning of digital enslavement. You believe what you are told to believe. You feel what you are made to feel. Watch your television. Listen to the radio. Read the news. Plug in, tune in, drop out. Turn your mind off, and the internet on. We have assumed control. We have assumed control.

You laugh at those who profess their faith in God, but cannot prove his existence, while none of you can derive a limit function, which forms the basis of the Calculus.

Your progeny will be slaves. They will be implanted with GPS microchips, have their homes and correspondence inspected by their government, they will be owned by the corporation that barely pays them enough to live, and their children will be indoctrinated in schools designed to shape their minds for servitude, yet they will call themselves "free." Their children will be conditioned, like Pavlov's dogs, to salivate and emote at any mention of ideas that challenge the Power Elite. They will eat poisoned food, get "immunization" shots of genetically-designed viruses, and drink municipal water laden with mind-altering chemicals.

You are slaves. You dance in your chains to the music of your masters.

It's hysteria now. It's a political/marketing campaign. It has nothing to do with science. It's bullshit.

According to the world's leading expert on polar bears, their numbers are higher than they were 30 years ago.

Over the coming days a curiously revealing event will be taking place in Copenhagen. Top of the agenda at a meeting of the Polar Bear Specialist Group (set up under the International Union for the Conservation of Nature/Species Survival Commission) will be the need to produce a suitably scary report on how polar bears are being threatened with extinction by man-made global warming.

This is one of a steady drizzle of events planned to stoke up alarm in the run-up to the UN's major conference on climate change in Copenhagen next December. But one of the world's leading experts on polar bears has been told to stay away from this week's meeting, specifically because his views on global warming do not accord with those of the rest of the group.

Dr Mitchell Taylor has been researching the status and management of polar bears in Canada and around the Arctic Circle for 30 years, as both an academic and a government employee. More than once since 2006 he has made headlines by insisting that polar bear numbers, far from decreasing, are much higher than they were 30 years ago. Of the 19 different bear populations, almost all are increasing or at optimum levels, only two have for local reasons modestly declined.

He has also observed, however, how the melting of Arctic ice, supposedly threatening the survival of the bears, has rocketed to the top of the warmists' agenda as their most iconic single cause. The famous photograph of two bears standing forlornly on a melting iceberg was produced thousands of times by Al Gore, the WWF and others as an emblem of how the bears faced extinction – until last year the photographer, Amanda Byrd, revealed that the bears, just off the Alaska coast, were in no danger. Her picture had nothing to do with global warming and was only taken because the wind-sculpted ice they were standing on made such a striking image.

It wouldn't be that easy for the average person to demonstrate that carbon dioxide is a heat-trapping gas either. I doubt most high school science teachers, using cheap equipment, could pull it off without practice. The equipment needed for a proper demonstration would be pretty expensive for the average school district.

I was thinking a couple of glass bottles, a vacuum pump, and an accurate scale would do the trick. What am I missing?
