    Correction and apology

    Many thanks to the two correspondents who recognized that the Alaskan house in the photo is not in fact near Fairbanks, but rather on the Seward Highway south of Anchorage, and that the cause of the collapse was the 1964 Earthquake rather than permafrost melt. We take complete responsibility for the mix-up in captioning and the erroneous attribution and we'd like to fully apologize for not catching this ourselves.
