This is the sick twisted bitch that could be our next President? Notice how I said next President...but I could see her knocking old, frail ass McCain off RIGHT AFTER THE INDUCTION CEREMONY!!!
I mean, I actually had a NIGHTMARE the other night in which Palin played a significant part...I think its pretty fucked up that I'm so afraid of a politican becoming President that its seeping into my friggin' self-conscious...
If that Repug ticket wins...I'll be so f'd up...I'd be able to give any Freudian therapist a ragin hard-on!!!
Teddy Roosevelt and some gentlemen friends founded the Boone and Crockett Club in December 1887 in Roosevelt's New York City house. The Club's constitution included this:
"Article V:
"The term 'fair chase' shall not be held to include killing bear or cougar in traps, nor "fire-hunting" nor "crusting" moose, elk or deer in deep snow, nor 'calling' moose, nor killing deer by any other method than fair stalking or still-hunting, nor killing game from a boat while it is swimming in the water, nor killing the female or young of any ruminant, except the female of white goat or of musk-ox."
It seems the Palin card is playing well, despite terrible facts such as wolf killing in Alaska. Could it be that people are going to buy the idea that Palin, being a Republican from a far-away state, represents Change You Can Believe In?
Could it be that unhappy Hillary supporters--I see a couple of them posting to this thread--will really be convinced by the idea that a woman in the White House is good, no matter what she believes? That a vagina makes an argument?
Could it be? Well, it could.
Obama has charisma. Apparently so does Sarah Palin. We can still hope that she'll make some stupid mistake; it happens. But it apparently doesn't matter than Biden is a far better VP candidate than Palin. After all, Palin is The First Woman With A Chance Of Getting Into The White House. And besides, she's ultra-conservative; so she tends to assuage the fears of the sexist Republicans. OK she's a girl, but she's our girl. (And besides McCain will govern. We'll make sure he stays alive till the end of his term. So all this talk about Palin replacing him will be just theory, and we can go on living in a womanless government.)
What should the Dems do now? Again, Obama has charisma. He´d better use it. I guess it's our best hope. I also hope all the smart heads that helped him launch the most successful internet and web campaign ever will also help him succeed further, despite Palin.
Meanwhile, McCain finally got a 2% advantage over Obama. Very little. But a bit scary.
Are Americans going to have to fight over recounts again?
I'm more worried about the extinction of the critical thinker than I am of the wolf. Whenever confronted with unabashed criticism of the right or the left, I do some checking and usually find out that much of the truth is left out of the story. That's what I discovered here too. The debate about appropriate wolf management in Alaska goes back to the 1950's. It's not a simple matter of killing wolves to benefit recreational hunters. Among other things, it's about maintaining an adequate moose population for native subsistence hunters. When the wolf and moose population is out of balance, the natives suffer.
If everyone would just stop and think before jumping on every band wagon that passes by playing their favorite anti-right or anti-left song, the country might not be so hopelessly divided down the middle. There's an abundance of information available to us--we need to use it to inform ourselves about the facts.
Apparently, having a "servant's heart" means serving oil companies and big game hunters, not the welfare of the environment or ordinary citizens.
Is this ALL YOU GOT on Palin? Cuz if this is all the "dirt" you can dish up on Palin, you are just doing her a favor. In essence, you are saying "uh, were desperate people. We've got to find something to disparage her..." And so you come up with THIS?!? How many people do you really think give a crap about predator control? You even admit that only wolves in certain areas are targets. Yeah, areas like the local grade school, or DAY CARE CENTER. Get a grip. If you can't say anything really nasty, just don't say anything at all.
Ha ha. Sounds like a good idea for a movie.
I appreciate the photo provokes a visceral response, and I appreciate the comments of those who support keeping it, with the exception of those few who can't make a point without ad hominem attacks.
Someone nailed it when they said palin represents "change you can believe in." Some of the people I know hate 3/4 of the candidates, but see Palin as someone to shake things up. I don't know if there is enough time before the election to see the truth. Also, on c-span last night they had a replay of the debate in Alaska between 3 candidates for governor. Let's just sya this- Biden should not underestimate her.
So let me get this straight, Palin advocates killing animals (wolves) that you don't eat, in order to kill more animals (moose) that you don't really eat (and that apparently wolves don't eat either) all for recreation? Here is a novel idea if you want to shoot wildlife how about with a camera?
I am not some anti-gun liberal that is totally anti-hunting, but please if you are going to shoot it--eat it. Killing for the sake of killing is barbaric, short sighted, ignorant and unsettling.
I am not charmed by anything I read about Palin.
Armed and dangerous.
Perhaps "Walk softly but carry a big stick" should guide her behavior.
Alas, I fear she will shoot herself in the foot.
Is this any way to run a country?
there are people posting about the photo of the dead wolf, upset, asking that it be taken down.
Bury your heads in the sand much?
Maybe this is why the people who actually watch the videos of foxes being skinned alive in China don't wear fur, and the people who have watched factory farm slaughterhouse videos don't eat meat.
It's still happening even if you don't have to look at it.
