Please, please, please, for the sake of humanity and the tattered shred of good that remains in it, turn this into a full-length documentary and show it on every movie screen, every tv, every ipod everywhere.

As Klein says, "Shock, by definition, is a temporary state..." but that doesn't mean it can't be induced over and over and over to the point of socio-cultural tetanus.

9/11 was no crisis; it was simply the fruition of multiple day-to-day ignorances that

9/11 was something that families all around the world experience every day; it was born of a system promoting incompetence in partisan loyalty over professionalism; it was born of a general malfeasance among some actors closely aligned to the powers of conventional wisdom in our government; it was born of years of neglect for diplomacy in favor of militarism; it was born of a corruption of the liberating and uplifting aspects of a democratic free market; and, it was born of a decades-long neglect in education.

It was manufactured into a crisis for the nation and, unfortunately, we did not have "just any" idiot in the White House, but a group representative of all these themes playing on the last one, in particular, as it so infected our general population.

The fixes would not have been too complex. Nonetheless, we were promised the simplest of all which answered the call of the majority's id and the call of a very select minority's thirst for further wealth and power.

Had our executive paid mind to the warnings of the previous administration, 9/11 may have been avoided.

Had our executive listened to the warnings of those knowledgeable and gaining more knowledge day to day, 9/11 may have been prevented.

Had our executives for several decades listened to neutrality on a host of international issues and weighed alternative theories, ideas, programs, and histories in formulating the way forward, 9/11 may have been prevented.

Had our executives paid mind to the principles, practiced or not, of what America is in the collective mind of the rest of the world, 9/11 may have been prevented.

Had our executives paid heed to the warnings of scientific & economic experts and acted as leaders should in response to reliable information, 9/11 may have been prevented.

And, most importantly, had our people not been so willfully apathetic about our place in the world, our responsibility in being the most powerful, our culpability in the abuse of that power at times, and our eternal mandate in what was an open democracy to find out more of what is being done in our collective name, 9/11 may have been prevented.

Now, Not Just Any Idiot & Co., having demanded obeisance in the name of the "bible wrapped in a flag" and the frightened collective obsequiously offering it, have so inured us to abuse, corruption, anti-diplomacy, dishonesty and ineptitude that the moment of crisis has passed. We have become numb to its continuance and, in the eyes of the rest of the world, have entered that infantile state.

Of course, not being infant-sized but being of such a mindset nonetheless, means that our childlike caprice can be astoundingly devastating. As such, in order to protect themselves against this, everyone wants to be ready to defend themselves which only perpetuates the calls of Not Just Idiot & Co. for obeisance to their continued abusive, corrupt, and anti-diplomatic agenda based on dishonesty and executed with ineptitude.

For those who don't know the famed science fiction writer's books, he wrote a series of seven books called the "Foundation Trilogy." In it, a genius named Hari Seldon created a science called "psychohistory," in which the movements of large societies could be predicted and controlled through mathematics.

The real-world Friedman, mentioned in this film, seems to be this sort of person. And although Seldon intended to use his new branch of science to help mankind in general, to shorten the collapse of civilization and hasten its rebuilding, who the hell uses such specialized knowledge for anybody's good but their own? That is why Asimov was famous for science fiction, and people like Friedman and Bush are famous as oppressors.

Chalmers Johnson showed the Military - CIA - Congressional Military Industrial Complex side of the equation in his book " Nemesis ".

John Perkins showed how the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund were used to cause economic and financial turmoil in countries around the world .

Now Naomi Klein shows how and what techniques were and are being used to psychologically devastate a society when either a man made OR natural disaster strikes a country.

Indeed we can remember the aftermath of 9/11 when the Bush Administration pushed through tax cuts and the Patriot Act , both of which are still with us ... Shock Doctrine 101.
