I can't wait until Ms. Coulter gets old and ugly enough that the networks *finally* stop putting her on TV. This leggy blonde "Ha ha, I'm such a bitch" act has gone on far too long. (Don't get me wrong - I love women on TV who present well-considered ideas, regardless of their appearance or age. But if the glass ceiling can do us a favor once in a while....)
Seeing the Obama in Selma video and the Coulter at CPAC video back to back is stunning. I had to go back and play them both again. Who was it who said there's little difference between the parties?
RRrrrrraaaah! Gays!
And please put "the fuck" in there where needed.
I loathe Ann Coulter as much as anyone else, but could everyone please lay off the Ann-is-a-man, closeted lesbian comments?
Ann is a nasty, repulsive liar who peddles demogoguery for a living, but we can all do better than using sexist/homophobic/transphobic comments to criticize her. It really makes any and all complaints about her own homophobia fall pretty damn flat.
I haven't the greatest affinity for Ms. Coulter ever since she (what's the "cool" verb here?) "dissed" me for being a very vocal user/supporter of marijuana. But your article about her was almost the word-for-word equivalent of every whiny article that liberals conjure up about Conservatives every 2 or 4 years...
I'll be putting my star on my resume, right beneath Time's Person of the Year.
Here, I'll do it again just to make sure:
BOFOOUN
Congrats on your future star!
Give me a star.
Oh C'mon, this was deliberate: The Coultergeist is just a tool, sent on cue to ignite a kerfluffle and distract attention. We've seen this tactic deployed before, time after time after time. It's akin to an F16 dumping chaff to avoid a missile. Now everyone is talking about Ann calling John a faggot, as the Walter Reed story fades...
The AP just recently had a week long embargo against the Non-News that is Paris Hilton. Maybe the mainstream media, the liberal media, and all us bloggers out there should do that same.
To call anyone a "faggot" as Ann Coulter did is reprehensible. But calling John Edwards that seems to my mind probably one of the less reprehensible things she's said of late.
No one outside of the most extreme factions of the Right take this woman seriously anymore. And to get outraged over her inane babbling and tortured speech is giving this shrew the exact thing she wants... Fuel to fire even more inane babbling and possibly some more book sales.
Better to just stipulate she's a lunatic and ignore her. Be done with it.
Did someone hijack the editorial staff?
That can be the only reason a post that bitched about a misspelled word got a red star.
Must be a hacker then because no one in their right mind would give a star for pointing out a misspelled word......would they......say it isn't so.
She's squeezing the last bitter juice from the lemon that is her public life if she has to resort to this kind of thing in her public appearances, even among the Party Faithful. What next, setting fire to a homeless person onstage for a new Republican-style "War on Poverty?"
She needs to eat. She looks like she could use a Cheerio for a hula hoop. I think she's about 14.5 minutes into her 15 minutes of fame, and she's starting to fray.
Yo Ann, what’s with that Adams apple? Was there a sex change in your past?
Dems! Wake up! Don't just release statements saying "Ann Coulter is inappropriate." Learn from the Republicans. Paint them all with the same brush.
"Ann Coulter said it, and Republicans laughed and applauded. Because no matter what they say about their big tent, this is what Republicans believe. And if this is what they're saying in public, imagine what they're saying in private. Imagine the words Ann Coulter uses to describe people of color when the cameras aren't on. Imagine the jokes these laughing Republicans tell when mainstream America isn't listening."
"I actually feel sorry for [Ann Coulter]. Once your career is based on denigrating 9/11 widows, what's your second act? Unless you dig up Mother Teresa and stick a dildo in her eye, nothing could be more offensive." - Jon Stewart

So I guess she's not going to the offensiveness crescendo right away.
This is kinda a gift. Splice this up into an effective commercial, with the tag line at the end: "Is this really the party you want in power?" Most Americans, even homophobic ones, will have to admit, it's not. Give these psychos enough rope, and they will hang themselves.
My husband picked up a nickname for AC that fits her to a point: "Anthrax".
She's poisonous to everyone who listens to her; dangerous to no one, and vile always. She is a one liner trying hard to come back from being upstaged.
I just wish she'd drop dead; the sooner, the better.
Why does Kerry Lauerman insult gay men by saying they are the only ones who appreciated Ann Coulter? I never met one gay man who liked the creature. It will be interesting to see if the other republic candidates distance themselves from her. And, by the way, I think rehab will do her some good.
So, once again conservatives have been exposed. The most important part of this video is not Coulter's bigoted comment - that makes her money and is to be expected - it is the audience's reaction. The fact that people mockingly "oohed" and then laughed and clapped at a bigoted comment shows what "conservatives" in this country have become.
They do not care about protecting the Constitution. Nor are they concerned with "values," whatever that may mean. They do not stand for the conservation of anything but their own anciently-derived hatreds. They are concerned only with having someone in a position of power legitimizing their prejudices and hatreds. They want an official voice (be it the office of the President, Congress, or "god") reaffirming their fear-driven beliefs. Their political position has no platform other than bigotry, hatred, racism, and xenophobia.
Likewise, they support the war not because they believe it was the right thing to do, nor because they think Hussein was a "bad guy." They support it because they want to kill "A-Rabs," "towelheads," "ragheads," and so forth. There's no more substance to today's mainstream "conservatives" (not to be confused with fiscal conservatives and/or libertarians) than this. This type of irrational, fear-driven hatred is something we rational people have yet to fully comprehend. Well, Coulter gave us a glimpse of it in this video. She knows her audience. If we want to beat them, we have to understand them, so thanks Ann.
The problem as I see it, is that the media - a conservative, corporate cartel really - continues to provide a platform for these nutty ideas, and places them side-by-side with sane, rational arguments, as if both are legitimate. Until that stops, until the media realizes that just because there are multiple sides to an issue does not mean they are all legitimate - that not all ideas and opinions are equal or worthy of consideration - the general populace will continue to wallow in outdated, worthless ideas that prop up their fragile senses of self. If they see others agreeing with their beliefs, they get the reinforcement they desire. But as soon as the official mouthpiece of their personal hatreds is disassembled, and they no longer see their crazy ideas reinforced by "officials," their beliefs will change.
