Now I wonder what Bush will think of privacy issues and wiretapping now.
The clip is not playing for me. Other clips are playing, so it is not a browser issue.
You know, at moments like this, I almost sort of like the guy. Except for virtually every major decision he's made as president, that is. When he's in folksy mode, or tell-it-like-it-is mode, I can see how people of a conservative bent would find Bush quite charming.
But really, it would be great if presidents spoke out in these terms more often - and more even-handedly, of course. Imagine if Bush, or any other president, stood up at a podium, and told Hezbollah, Hamas, Lebanon, Israel, Syria, Iran, and any other political entity that was engaged in violence to "stop doing this shit."
It'd be viewed as rather hypocritical in that end of the world, I'm sure, but the tone of the dialog would be refreshing.
To his followers, this will demonstrate:
1. He has an opinion.
2. That he honestly (off mic!) believes that Israel's aggression is completely the fault of Hezbollah.
3. He talks tough (all gut, no brain)
4. He knows that China and Russia are both big, putting him in the upper percentile when compared with other American students of geography.
Almost makes you wonder whether he turned the mike back on himself. Or maybe Karl Rove was there to turn it on for him.
If he gets a bounce in the polls because of this, just imagine how potty mouthed he might get!
It's my opinion that those fucking ragheads in Hezbollahbaise ought to get their asses away from the kike border. Also, if the motherfucking mouth-breathers of Hamas don't get their shit together I'm all for the kikes kicking their asses. Thanks, thanks...I'm here for two more years. Try the veal, you fuckheads.
Yeah, it's a little refreshing to hear a politician speak that way-- but it doesn't seem to show his intelligence (if there is any) or his respect for the other nations attending the G8 (ditto.) He comes across as an arrogant idiot who has no grasp of the situation even when he doesn't mean to be heard.
I wish this would break the spell on those "he says what he means" Bush supporters, but in honesty, this incident isn't going to do anything. I hope Kofi sucker punches him though. That would some real television.
Imagine the expletives flying whenever these two talk to each other.
How exhilarating to discover that the candid chatter of the Leaders of the Free World wouldn't make the grade at a Kiwanis Club luncheon.
The hell with the expletive. What about the rest of the drool?
For those who love Bush's straight talk, I can really understand why. Look how wonderfully united our country is. And the entire globe hasn't seen this degree of peace and harmony in centuries. Am I right or am I right?
Just keep on doin' whatever it is your doin' Georgie Boy. Things are going swimmingly.
I somehow am a lot less disturbed by Bush's gaffe about Syria than I am about the comment that he seemed "dismissive of...Kofi Annan", although it shouldn't surprise me that he did.
