Watching this beautiful doll awaken briefly to life with the help of many genii hands made me wonder what invisible (to us) "hands and wires" actually move us through life and control our movements and fate.
Leave it to the French to present this masterpiece!

I have a little daughter who just learned to walk, and this video comes so close to capturing the awkward and startling enchantment of her first steps. Rather than creepy or Bjork-esque, I think instead—from the artful task of getting those little socks and shoes on, to the cautious gestures, to the sense that everybody in town is celebrating—it is a deeply moving video.
This was so magically weird i LOVED it! Not nearly enough whimsy in our everyday lives. Keep it up Video Dog!
What a nice little whimsy break these provided! I felt like a kid watching them, I was so caught up in the 'magical weirdness', as another commentator put it. Thanks!
Does anyone know who is singing "It Amazes Me" in this clip - it's an interesting take on the song.
Very weird, but very interesting. More like this, please.
I don't know who made the new music for the Giant Girl Doll video, but the sample is of Blossom Dearie's version of "It Amazes Me". BD sometimes sang in French to great effect--"Boum," "Plus Je T'Embrasse"--so maybe there's a cultural connection here. (all of these and more are available on iTunes). No, I'm not her agent, just a fan.
