  • Dear CNN -- if you don't have anybody good to interview, give it up

    You don't HAVE to turn both CNN channels into "the 24-hour Anna Nicole death show."

    How about reporting other news? Like, stuff that affects real people? Now there is an idea! Crrrrazy I know, but give it some thought! People might even watch!

  • Salon? Would you please stop this?

    Excuse me....but I gather the point of this article is to demonstrate how tasteless and inept (pick your adjectives)the coverage of Anna Nicole Smith's death is.

    I don't think Salon.com has much room to preen itself over some supposed superiority. Please recall that, within hours of the announcement of her death, you folks were snidely posting that video of her in which, yes, she seemed a real mess.

    You'll also recall that, as I was very glad to see, you immediately had letters from at least twenty readers who asked you to take down the video.

    So, now you've turned from being snide about a dead woman (whom, I'll grant, probably wasn't as smart as you are) to being snide about OTHER people's coverage of the death?

    Basically, you've gone from "Look how Stupid She was!" to "Look how Stupid the guests on Larry King's show are as they discuss her!"

    You'd do well to simply drop the entire topic. Should that leave you with nothing to do for the rest of the week, perhaps you could try Growing Up.

    Nice to see they did their research. In about 5 billion years the sun will grow to be a huge red giant, it will make any and all life inhabitable on earth. The oceans will have evaporated, the atmosphere will have been burned up and our planet will resemble a cooked, lifeless 1600ยบ F rock. The silver lining here? NO MORE CABLE NEWS !!!
