Yes, I know: the extremes will fester if they operate under the cloak of darkness. Shining a light on this sort of repulsive rhetoric provides an opportunity for those who might be on the fence to run away in horror. And yet...
There's a part of me, too, that knows that Ann Coulter sold books today, and that there is no unified corollary action to take for people who find her words offensive. So let's be generous and say that 90 percent of the viewers disagree with Coulter. That 10 percent is still a huge win for her. It is no censorship of her point of view to simply decide not to offer her a forum. Coulter relies on having a setting where her bomb-throwing makes her look like a brave truth-teller, much as Paris Hilton relies on having photographers follow her around to see if she does something outrageous. Lacking a mainstream audience, their schtick no longer works.
...before the Wicked Witch of the East Coast finally goes too far and gets censured?? Will anyone ever publicly call her to account?

P.S. Wasn't a huge cornerstone of Bush's presidency based on 9/11? Why is it OK for him to use it but not the people who lost loved ones?

What Lauer should have asked is why is it okay for the 'pubs to screech every two seconds about 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11 on and on and on and soforth ad nauseum, but it's all of a sudden NOT okay, at least in Mann's opinion, that the widows have a voice?
Most of what the republican party has left are liars, chickenhawks, and hypocrites. Mann Coulter is holding on to the bottom rung, and it's painful to watch.
I didn't even know sHE was relevant anymore. sHE's downright sickening. I would love to see Mann and the absolutely LOVELY Maureen Dowd in a celebrity deathmatch. I would personally dig Mann Coulter's grave...
wow. does anyone else see what i'm seeing here? no wonder she takes mccarthy as one of her heroes. back to ann: the gauntness (she's actually gotten skinnier!), the paranoia, the defensiveness and out of proporation reactionary sniping...gross. and sad.
I think she should go on "The Daily Show." Now THAT would be interesting. I think Jon Stewart would slice, dice and chop her like a fancy mandoline, but in a "don't know you're cut till you see the blood" kinda way.

A Seat on the plane. Ha! LOL No, really. A lot of good, beautiful people died that day on those flights and in those towers. And we're stuck with Ann Coulter and her vile thoughts and verbalizations. Damn the luck. No one would have missed her.

I used to think Ann Coulter was a man or transexual (and am happy to now see others have noticed that). But now I think she's an alien. I can't imagine she really believes what she is saying/writing--it only makes sense if she was sent from another planet to test human reaction to evil rhetoric. They did their best in constructing her but perhaps changed their minds on gender mid-project. I think they may be almost finished with the experiment because she's getting wierder -- the software has glitches. They will probably have to nix it now that her adam's apple has been noticed and her clothing is being recognized as inappropriate.
Obviously, she's an idiot. I do find it interesting, however, that every single attack on her that is posted on this website side-steps the actual content of her message and instead attacks her general appearance, her clothing, her supposed 'Adam's Apple', her style of speech. One person even called her a cunt. Wow. What’s up with all of the women-hating rhetoric? If she were a black man, would those who disagree with him ignore the issue and just resort to derogatory, racist name-calling? Somehow, I can’t see that happening. What’s up? It’s like if you disagree with someone, you’re only response is, “Yah? Well, you’re FAT!” How funny.
