Infuriated, thanks, that's nice :) This is what i do when i take breaks from outlining Civil Procedure for my finals. I'm going a little nuts -- i've written a song about res judicata...res judicata, i don't want to know, but i gotta...and so on. :P
anyway, i wanted to put all of this on wikipedia, but the page is locked since someone tried to reveal the identity of the accuser (classy, right?!).
Keep on being infuriated. I'm infuriated too :)

Blech! I never liked civ pro - too mechanical. Res judicata is nice, however, as reses go, I always preferred res ipsa loquitur. Try to rhyme that . . .
Good luck on exams ; )

If we want to make the offensive stereotyping even more parallel between the "stripper" and the "lacrosse guys" instead of just talking about how morally reprehensible it is to be a stripper, let's talk about how morally reprehensible it is to HIRE STRIPPERS. If there were no demand, they would be no supply, right? Or at least, they would be really cheap, but they were paid $400 dollars each.
Who hires strippers? one could say "what kind of pathetic, chauvinistic, future wife-beaters, hire two women to take their clothes off at a party? What kind of a horrible human being do you have to be to want that and then to enjoy that?"
The above is not my opinion, it's one that someone on Fox could perhaps advance to smear the lacrosse players' credibility.
But the day someone on Fox starts slamming hiring strippers, we will all have to ice skate home, because hell will have just frozen over.
Oh infuriated, your affection is flattering, but i'm afraid i'm already spoken for.
as for rhyming res ipsa loquitur, i have no idea. i know that the only word that rhymes with "venue" is "menu."
I think my favorite, after res ipsa, so far is "voir dire" = "Let's see what he'll say!"
This could have easily been any other university; hell, it could have been any other city. The more I think about the case, the more I think issues of class are circumstantial. How many strip clubs are there in America? How many men have been to one? A lot, yes? There aren't enough mansioned scions of boardmen to go around. Do I really see a group of young males from any socioeconomic cross-section treating a woman they hired to dance in a dwindling state of dress with the utmost respect? I think it's more male entitlement than economic.
I hope I didn't read LeCastor unsarcastically earlier, because I agree: there's something about hiring an exotic dancer that makes me recoil. I acknowledge the transaction as a fact of culture, so I can't really condemn either party on that fact alone. But if you made the lacrosse boys construction foremen, hopefully the outrage at a rape (if it is proved to've occurred) would be just as great. Money can build hospitals, and money can bury sins. But I see the base tendencies of the Durham debacle in more men than the moneyed.
Dam evil white men.
If you're going to be sarcastic, and it was a bad attempt at that, at least know hot to spell it's damn. If it was just a typo I apologize.
What kind of person hires another human being to degrade him or herself in front of them?
I'm a guy who asks that question whenever the topic of "Let's go to s strip club" comes up.
"When you put it that way you take all the fun out of it."
I challege those who share my gender to rephrase the question. Or, to ask their wives, sisters, daughters, and mom to see if they can't pick up some extra spending cash renting themselves out at the local college frat party.
Q: When is a point not a point?
A: When there is no point!
What the hell is she talking about? What does it have to do with anything? Why is she so desperately, bitterly whiny?
Hey, Video Dog! I think you should find video of Fox News discussing the woman that accused Kobe Bryant of raping her and see if they discussed her in the same whorish fashion. See if there are any weird differences in the way the discuss the accuser and the accused. I have no idea, but you are the people to find out!
That woman is a stripper-wannabe. Unfortunately, deep down inside, she knows that no one would pay.
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
