Wow...that's just....terrible. What a...wow. Terrible. To read it is one thing, but to see it? Its...wow.

So many things to say about Pat Robertson. Doesn't God also punish false prophets?

Oh yeah God is so petty that he gives political heads of state strokes but cares nothing for the men that murder the women in their families for deigning to have sex. What is God doing to stop genocide and rapists and child molesters? Oh, according to Pat, God only cares about Isreal and politics? People like Pat Robertson must not really think much of their God.

Please, no more free publicity for Robertson. He's a crackpot on a downhill slide. I doubt even Bush returns his phone calls any more.

The man is clearly descending into mild-to-moderate mental illness (paranoia, magical thinking, narcissistic personality disorder ...). But what leaps out of this rant is his statement that Israel should not appease the United States of America -- an odd thing to say considering the mutually parasitic arrangement currently enjoyed by the fringe religious right and the Bush administration. Furthermore, why aren't the usual knee-jerk uber-patriots lighting their torches and storming the lobby of CBN headquarters as we speak?

The sorry part of this is that anybody takes Robertson seriously. The fact is that a lot of people do.

I got into an argument with my husband about this very issue last night. My very intelligent husband was convinced that while Robertson might have meant that Sharon's illness was due to his policies he never actually said it. He was amazed that the right-wingers were condemning him too.

Then he said, "He starts off with saying what a great person Sharon is." and it clicked. He'd only seen the MSM clip and not the whole thing! So since I had already seen the clip here a ran to the computer and called it up again. After seeing the whole thing he agreed. He's angry now that the MSM isn't playing the entire clip.
