Obama's got it.
Even if Hill takes Penn, and I think She will, the party and the Super D's want Obama; you have to figure he has the best chance of winning and they want to win.
Obama has run a fine race. It is no surprise that the "bitter" flame up, which might have passed unnoticed had it not been played up by Marc Cooper's monkey house at the Huffington Post, came from a hack journalist (Cooper) who loaths all Dems and is only in the Obama camp to see Clinton knocked out.
Those journalists who will turn on Obama (see Conason today) are not all in mainstream or conservative papers. Anyway, though it has stumbled, Salon has been the best place to go for objective Clinton vrs. Obama coverage.
Obama will be a candidate you can be proud to vote for. Some of his supporters however (like the childish postings here) are enough to make you move to Canada.

Will Obama's Debate stumble hurt him.
Joan, It was about time that he was asked some personal questions as the media has given him a free ride most of the time. We don't know that much about him and there are so many questions on his associations with Rezko and others, his 130 "present" votes while in the Illinois Senate, and why would Hamas endorse him? He hasn't served one full term in the US Senate and just running on "change" doesn't get it; what kind of change? The American people really need to take a good look at him before voting as we sure don't want another "on the job training" and someone we like personally and want to have a beer with. Look where they got us last time. This debate really sealed it for me as to his inexperience.

Stumble? What stumble?
The only stumble I see is Ms. Walsh claiming an Obama stumble and then not offering a single specific example. I missed the debate, but I haven't yet heard anyone else in the media brand anything in the entire circus as an "Obama stumble." Got anything to back this one up?

It's over
My thought, especially when Clinton mentioned Farrakhan (!), was that Clinton came across as more of a hack than I had thought she was. Now, I'm not a Clinton-hater; indeed my wife and I gave a substantial contribution to her Senatorial campaign. But during the debate, no matter how slimy or stupid a question the moderators came up with, and they seemed to have no limit to their baseness, Clinton piled on. Clinton would have won some points with me if she had called foul on "do you believe in the American flag," which was probably the stupidest question I've ever heard on TV, outside of a Monty Python show. But instead, she followed her utterly predictable path to the gutter. I don't like it when Rove does it, and I don't like it when Clinton does it either.
Anyway, it doesn't matter -- this race is over. Clinton will probably win PA by 5-10%, lose NC by at least 10%, and Indiana will probably be close. She still won't have enough elected delegates, and the super-delegates won't ignore the election results; it is really only Clinton's die-hard supporters who really believe that Obama's unelectable. She can keep running -- hell, I can keep running, too, on the hope that the convention will deadlock and turn to her (or me). But those of us in the reality-based world know it ain't gonna happen.
And then Obama will trounce McCain, by a bigger margin than Clinton v. Dole. The karma of the race is the same -- a Republican who thinks he's owed the Presidency against someone with 10X the ideas. But on top of that, Dole is an intelligent man, while McCain seems, to all appearances, to be some admixture of stupid and intellectually lazy.

Joan, you ignorant slut
I subscribed to Salon to read, not watch bobbleheads. Knock the video off.
I explained in previous posts why you are directly responsible for me not reupping my subscription again.
Die with dignity. That's the best I can wish you. FOAD.

Obama "stumble" in question!
Joan, I appreciate your comments, but I disagree with your theme that Obama "stumbled". Hillary gaffe in regard to Bosnia occurred over a decade ago, while Obama's dubious relationships with Rev. Wright and Tony Rezko occurred within the year!! In fact, may I suggest Obama's systematic, disingenuous rhetoric is becoming more obvious each day. His latest gaffe is his suggestion that had Rev. Wright not left the church,Obama would have looked elsewhere. How convenient for Obama.

Obama proves himself a wuss
I have contributed 240 bucks (I live on fixed income from SS) and have already voted early in NC for Barack. But my support for him has degenerated to not-liking him less than not-liking Senator Clinton. To be a good presdient in today's world you have to be tough in the sense of, when the situation calls for it, being merciless in the counter-attack. Ever since the South Carolina primary the Clinton team has practically begged to be hit back hard. But Obama never stepped up to the plate. The only real sin in Politics and in War is to shy away from whatever it takes to win. If Obama cannot knock-out the Clinton machine -- with its twenty year history of public scandal and tawdriness (and felonies in fact even if not convicted of such) -- he'll never be able to deal with the crazy man who is President of Iran. Yes. Give Obama points for, at least in the begining of is campaign, giving us a vision for what it would be like to leave behind the "old" politics. But that means nothing if you're still a wuss. I cannot see myself voting for Senator Clinto under any circumstances. But if it's Ombama/McCain I may just vote for Obama. I was really exicted about Obama. Now he reminds me of soggy speghetti. A Stumble No Longer Matters..
Joan, nice provocative video!! Interesting responses.
It is down to character now. It is only the straggling undecideds who are looking for a defining moment. They are now drifting to Obama as Hillary's perpetual story and alibi platform collapses under the weight of relentless media exposure. I will make references to two other writers: Peggy Noonan (who I love) and Mike Lupica (who I can't stand). Miss Noonan published a pre-obituary on Hillary's campaign in the Wall Street Journal. She promotes a theory that Hillary will leave soon, because she has hope of returning down the road. Maybe in 2012 (wow, doesn't that date seem stunning?) or possibly as an 'elder stateswoman' in 2016? Peggy says keep an eye on the wardrobe. Her next campaign will start with a switch to skirts.
As for Mr. Lupica, he has caught the essence of the Clinton campaign with a sarcastic spin on Hillary's 'shooting lessons from Grandpa' that took place behind that Pennsylvania cabin. Lupica said he expects that in her next speech, she will detail how, during that sniper fire Bosnia landing, she had to be restrained from picking off snipers with her Pennsylvania 6 shooter! It captures so much of the Clinton(s) mistrust.
As for Obama, he is such a fresh, decent person, compared to the trash that has run for office, winning and losing, over the past 16 years, that it is incumbent on any challenger to at least meet his standard of political decorum. Hillary has failed and that is the root of her demise. It would have been easy for Obama to shrug of the 'bitter' comment by saying he 'misspoke himself'. He didn't. Why give it equal weight against Hillary's 'Bosnia Fantasy'?
