As usual, Bateman is amusing as he exposes the hypocrisy and ineptitude of Sarah Palin. I am confused, however, as to who the bedraggled Batman interviewer represents and what the associated metaphor/symbolism is. Could someone smarter than I enlighten me? Thanks!
I didn't feel like drawing Brian Williams (he's kinda boring-looking anyway), and I had the Batman character from an animation I did back in July sitting on my hard drive. It's the same reason that in one of my debate animations, Tom Brokaw is a cowboy wearing pink and blue.
As far as I know, portraying Brian Williams as Batman has no deeper meaning, and certainly should not be interpreted as Batman and Brian Williams being the same person. Though you never do see them together...
Here's what's troubling about the Obama-Ayers scenario:(1) Obama's denial of a relationshsip with Ayers, claiming Ayers was just a "neighbor" until it was revealed that he was recruited by Ayers to serve on the CAC board and that he and Ayers shared an office for 3 years, and (2) Obama's personal and professional relationship with Ayers since 1993 speaks to his sympathy for the radical restructuring of America advocated by Ayers. Check out Ayers's new book, which indicts "white supremacy" as the root of America's problems. Ayers remains a terrorist--a rhetorical terrorist.
