  • Salon should come out from the closet

She said “I will bring more than my 35 of years of experience TO THE WHITE HOUSE”. She never mentioned 35 years of her experience IN THE WHITE HOUSE. You jack ass! Salon should come out from the closet and endorse Obama, the big phony.

  • And Bateman didn't say

"experience in the White House" he said SENATE. If you wanna talk about life experiences, JFK was younger than Nixon, too.

So stop being a jerk yourself.

  • Clinton just like Nixon

Lots of people have been saying how Obama is like Kennedy. It makes lots of sense, if you equate Catholic with black, Irish with being from Kenya, and having a famous and influential Senator as a father with having a father who was a goatherd.

But often overlooked is the other side of the comparison, which is all the ways that Hillary is just like Nixon. Like him, she is jowly and furtive, with dark eyebrows that emphasize her hatred of young voters, liberals, and other types of Communists.

Also Hillary will stop at nothing to win, which makes her just like Nixon and unlike any other presidential candidate in history. And just like Nixon, Hillary speaking makes me feel like being told to clean up my room before I go play outside with the other kids, which I hated when I was a kid.

Also whenever anyone mentions Hillary's years of experience I look at my own life and compare it to hers. That makes me jealous because why is she always getting called on instead of me, and why is she the prettiest and the smartest and gets all the attention? It's not fair.

So I will be voting against Hillary as a vote against Nixon. And if that doesn't work I will throw a spitball at her head, or trip her at recess, and see if that makes her cry.

  • Sorry, Scott

Why so much Scott Bateman lately? The stuff is just utterly uninspired on all counts. Please stop.

  • Remember the old Video Dog?

The one that was kind of fun?

Nothing against Bateman or Red State, but I enjoyed the Amy Sedaris Microsoft Office ad on the home page more than I enjoy the current incarnation of Video Dog. I'm really not interested in seeing Salon reporters talk to me. I'd rather just read them, thanks.

Video Dog used to be like Oddball on Countdown. What was wrong with that?

  • Kaleun, JFK also served in te US Navy

Listen you bonehead, al least JFK served in the US Navy and fought in the World War II before choosing his career in politics. What has your candidate done? I know what he is doing now; screwing the minds of idiots like you with his puffy words. So shut up. Also watch the video carefully before passing any comment.

Hey, smart guy, why don't you tell us about Hillary Clinton's long list of achievements?

I always hear the Clinton camp touting her thirty-five years of experience, but unless you're willing to count twenty years of being a first lady as a qualification, you'll find that her resume isn't as impressive as the Clinton people would have you think.

And if being first lady IS qualification for higher office, I look forward to Laura Bush's White House bid in 2012. She has almost as much hands-on First Lady experience as Hillary has!!

Too bad Nancy Reagan is too old to run. She had a lot of First Lady experience too.

  • What a comparison?

Really funny! What a comparison? Please ask Laura Bush (also Nancy Reagan) to win the US Senate race twice in a row against the evil right wing establishment, and then compare. Now you know why I call you guys bonehead. Being a woman (also a wife & and a mother) Hillary has reached to this zenith of her political journey against all odds; this is her single most matchless accomplishment. In every part of the world, in every society and in every religion women have been treated as second class citizens. In this country women had to wait long enough to vote or even use a contraceptive pill. At present time,in US there are well educated people of the esteemed institution who strongly believe that women are not good enough for math and science. The list goes on. These are few examples just to remind you the hurdles women are up to. Still you need the list of her accomplishments I am ready to give you. I have no doubt in my mind her list of accomplishments will outnumber that of Obama, any time.

  • Looking forward to reading the list

So her big accomplishment is getting elected twice to the Senate? Wow, that's amazing!!! And you say she was also a wife and a mother too? That's the best you can come up with? Really? And that qualifies her to be president ... how? I do agree with you that Hillary has reached the zenith of her political journey (considering the fact that she'll never be president, the Senate probably is her zenith), but I would think that someone who is so quick to disdain Barack Obama's accomplishments would come up with a better case for his/her own candidate. You are blowing smoke, my friend. Clearly you don't realize how laughably lame your answer is! I really think the Obama camp should start turning the question around and ask Hillary to start justifying her accomplishments (without recourse to her husband's): if your response is indicative what we can expect, a more in-depth examination of Hillary's qualifications would be a real boon for them ! The fact that you say you have no doubt that a list of her accomplishments will outnumber that of Obama implies that you don't already know the answer. But if your whole campaign is going to be based on your own candidate's superior experience, wouldn't it be helpful to know BEFORE you go shooting off your mouth? Otherwise, isn't it altogether possible that your support is based on misplaced faith?

  • Here is the list

Sorry I am late to reaply. I was away.

You amuse me my friend. You really do. Either you misread or misunderstand my points. I put forward the example of Hillary being elected in the Senate to challenge you misguided comparison between Hillary and other two first ladies (your comparison was pathetic). Secondly, in our society it is an uphill battle for a woman to pursue a successful political career (actually it is an uphill battle for any high profile career). Overall, being a wife and a mother journey becomes even harder. Hillary has overcome those barriers and come to this point. This is a unique accomplishment itself. I Hope now you understand what I meant. So don’t twist the language and try to jab. That will be a sign of dishonesty

Here are a few of her accomplishments, in a nutshell.

During the Watergate scandal Hillary was an advisor of the house committee on the judiciary. The committee’s report was instrumental to dislodge President Richard Nixon in 1974. By that time she was already recognized as a person with bright political future.

During her time in Arkansas (not as a first lady) she was actively involved in child advocacy. Besides publishing radically new articles on children rights, she cofounded the Arkansas advocates for children and families, a children defense fund.

From 1978 to 1981 she was appointed as a board of director of the legal services corporation by the then US President Jimmy Carter. She also served as the chair of the board.

In 1979 (after becoming the first lady of Arkansas) she chaired the rural health advisory committee. The role of the committee was to obtain funds to provide medical facilities to poor rural areas.

From 1982 to 1992 Hillary successfully chaired Arkansas educational standard committee. In 1983 she was named Arkansas woman of the year.

From 1987 to 1991 she was also the chairperson of the American Bar Association’s commission on women in the profession that addressed gender bias in the law profession.

By the way, during that duration in Arkansas she continued to practice law with the Rose law farm. In 1981 and in 1991 she was named as one of the 100 most influential lawyers in America by National Law Journal. To add a few more cherries on the top of the cake, she served in the corporate board of directors of TCBY, Wal-mart and Lafarge.

She was the first First Lady of US to hold a post-graduate degree and have a professional life of her own before becoming the First Lady in the White House—how ridiculous was your comparison between Hillary and Laura Bush?

I believe you have already got the flavor of her accomplishments. Without wasting much time, I just want to mention that she was the chair person of the National Health Care reform. We all know she was unsuccessful in her endeavor (may be the first time). Nevertheless, it was a good experience for her. I also refrain from pointing out her role as a US Senator, and as a student leader in the Yale University. So it is not me who is blowing smoke, it is you who is dozing with illusions perceived as reality. So wake up before you lose your sanity on overdose.
