  • I remember seeing the PSA on TV

The video was lots of different people from all walks of life. There was even an infant.

  • Me too!

I remember it, too; I was about four or five and I got in trouble for singing the song around the house. That, and "Honky Tonk Women."

For those who are curious, here is the original PSA:

Get VD, get a free horse! Yay, VD!

  • How Silly...

...but at least the singer had (has?) a beautiful voice.

  • Similar to a 45 I Found in my Parents' Collection

And you thought your parents' record collection was weird! When I was about 16 I found a 45 entitled "It's Free" among the records my parents kept out. It was a funk/ R & B type song, and not a bad one, but its lyrics were what set it apart: it was all about syphillis and gonnerhea, describing the diseases in vivid detail and using slang terms like "johnson." The refrain went something like "It's free, free shots to cure VD." Does anyone remember anything like this? I don't remember any artist being credited, but it may have been distributed by the Chicago (or maybe Cook County) Board of Health.
